A Rosebud.
That's awesome Soquili!!!! I would never have thought of (or seen) that.... Excellent !
Thanks Geminiguy.
Here's another quick image before I drive off and go to work.
A cartoon face.
Well....I couldn't stop seeing possibilities. One more before heading for work.
Moonshiners have been and probably are still in the hills of Tennessee. So here's a little brown jug of "Good Ole Mountain Dew" ;)
I am very impressed Soquili.... Nice work and quick thinking... Awesome! Thanks!
sticking with the minimalistic..... [and both images] :D
Now that's inginuity!!!! A hog ridin a hog!!!! Very cool Thanks Steve
My contribution: a pop-art-grape-broken-neon-sign-thingie... :p

That's wicked cool!!! (givin me flashbacks though.....) Which Xara is required to do these effects??
Another day another cartoon :)
A fun thread! Here's mine.
It's not an effect per se, and it's done in Xara Xtreme. It's a very simple (fast) animation that switches between different versions of the Image.
(1) Original. (2) B & W. (3) Saturated. (4) Mellow.
Hey, this thread is fun. Clearly there are many different ways to treat two simple shapes. Thanks for the challenge idea, geminiguy. :)

Sun glasses
I like that Mike!
My son (6 years, nearly 7 years - still 14 days to wait) said, it could be a chicken drumstick.

Wow!! So many awesome renditions so far. Remi... awesome job by your son I wonder if one day someone should start a "kid's gallerie"?? Anyway, you're all much quicker than I am
mine is a bowel full o' cherries??
The creativity and talent demonstrated by everyone here on TG never ceases to amaze me. Perhaps this answers the question, What is art? Like love, it's anything you want it to be.

PS - Risto, yours is dazzling! Thank you for letting us know how it was done.
Don't kids eat rubbish these days?Quote:

No. Only joking. Please tell Remi Jnr that this is excellent vision and interpretation. :D
I am a bit of a minimalist ;)
Ankhor I thinking either Jarvic Artificial Heart, or, Human Heart on the way to the operating theatre.
No.... don't you see? It's Shreck!!!![
Yo, Adrienne..... I luv youuuuuu!!!! ?? (it's Rocky... holdin up his gloves...).... What????
Happy Halloween!!!!
A question was asked about the "grape animation".
It's quite simple...
Here's a file: look at the animation layers and transparency.
Layer 1: Original image
Layer 2: Image with a black shape covering it (with saturation transparency.)
Layer 3: Image with a yellow shape covering it (with saturation transparency.)
Layer 4: Image with a yellow shape covering it (with stained glass transparency.)
File attached.

I win the prize for getting the most copies of your shape into one pic :D
Hahaha Nice job Doc!!!! I had thought bout an apple tree... but I am too lazy..... Got any prescriptions for that???? Thanks
Thanks Risto!!!!
It reminded me of the old "what's this?" drawings we used to do as kids.
What's this?
A Mexican frying an egg.
EDIT: I found a link to Mexicans ....
Hi,
New member (but long time lurker) here.
Just thought I'd contribute my scribble...a broken old tennis racquet.
Best wishes
Manoj
lol no doubt broken in a fit of pique maybe once owned by John Mcenroe the original 'bad boy' of tennis.
