I've spent a little bit time with Carrara Pro 5, to create a new piece from the series "impossible objects".
I've done some experiments with different textures like wood or stone, but finally I returned to my simple textures again.

A scooter crusher!! I love it!!
So when is the first showing ?
I am wondering because i would like to reserve a seat. ;)
Thanks in advance.
PS: Nice drawing.
The poor scooter is only parking there.
The same scene animated as a Flash animation.
Now THAT is cool!!!
Cool. But I'm still waiting for what it's supposed to do.
Very clean Flash animation. Is it exported directly from Carrara?
hm... well... I see, that will take some explaining.
There are only two rolls and a cord. On each end of the cord is a counterweight. But the problem is, the cord isn't fastened.
So, the complicacy is, that this is not possible in reality - just stark naked magic. :)
Gman: I used Carrara 5 Pro together with a additional plugin called "VectorStyle". This plugin renders the 3D scene (or a animation) as a Flash, EPS, Adobe Illustrator or SVG vector graphic.

:D
I understand now.
Might be a good challenge or group activity, to create and animate impossible machines, not just static pictures.
Here is a good reference site: http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/museum/unwork.htm
Which somehow led me to this gem: http://blueballfixed.ytmnd.com/ :DQuote:

lol, Great! :D
It's a kind of a Rube Goldberg Machine. My kids love this Rube Goldberg Machine Video.
Which reminds me that the Blender community had a Rube Goldberg challenge to test out the new game physics engine. Also used that gif file as reference for an earlier PhotoImpact thread, I remember... anybody up to doing a 3d version of that?
Do you remember the Rube Goldberg Machine videos from above?
I've found another video of such a machine.
BUT: Please be careful and don't show this video your kids, because it's all about Sex, Drugs and Rock.. - er, no - there was no Rock'n Roll involved. I'm really not sure, if I should post the link...
Ok, you're warned. Click on the first video within the following site, to see the [the domain isn't active anymore].
