How Is This?
This is my first attempt at gif animations. Using PhotoImpact 11 and Gif Animator 5. Could have better with more, just trying to get the hang of it.
Like to put a car in there leaving.
Well your guys and gals are so good, I seen your stuff. Impressive
I like Coreldraw, Ulead and trying to get the hang of Xara, but I get Corel better.
Any ways let me know what you think?
And why can't I add it to my signature?
Thanks Mike

Re: How Is This?
It might be useful to crop it to size like this?

Re: How Is This?
Good animation. You should try it using Xara Xtreme Pro as it has tweening when you output to Flash and the "leaving" would diminish more smoothly into the background.

Re: How Is This?
Welcome to TalkGraphics Mike:D
Your picture looks very good!
Putting a car in there driving away would be quite easy, just substitute the text for a car image reducing the size of the car as it appears to move away.
Would be smoother if you used a few more frames but unfortunately the file size would increase:)
As Raymond has pointed out. your original has a very big invisible background on it that needs to be cropped out.
Could be slightly large to go as a signature though?
A very good effort though and would love to see more of your work here:D

Re: How Is This?
Thank You ALL!
For such a warm welcome, that make me want to come back again and again.
How do I make it smaller now without starting all over?
And once it smaller as Raymonds, how do I put it in my signature? I tried earlier and it said no animated signatures. But I see Sally and other once have animation in theirs.
Thanks again, Mike

Re: How Is This?
Mike,
Using UGA to crop a picture, open it in uga, click on the "Selection Tool Rectangle" (next to the bottom edit icon) then use your cursor and draw a rectangle selection around your picture in the workspace staying as close to the image as you can without hitting it. Let curor go and this will leave a dotted selection where you placed it.
Go now to top of screen (EDIT) and click on crop canvas! Everything outside your selection in every frame will disappear. Optimise and save:D
If you wish to make the whole animation (in total) smaller in size just open it in UGA, go EDIT, resize image and the box that comes up should be self explainatory?
Sorry, Can't help with your signature question as I had an animated one a while back but regulations have since changed on this site and I'm not sure of what is now allowed?
Hope the above helps:D

This sorta what you want?:D

Re: How Is This?
YES! How did you do that and in what program?
I notice the road looks alittle less smooth then mine.

Re: How Is This?
I did this quickly with UGA.
It looks less smooth because it is optimised heavier than yours (Makes it look more grainy)
Just took your file and added a car image in frame 1 Copied it and pasted into frame 2, made it a bit smaller using transform tool, repositioned it, copied again and pasted into frame 3 and so on.
Very simple but never as good as making up all the images/frames first in PhotoImpact before doing the animating in UGA.:)

Re: How Is This?
Welcome to TG. :D Looks like you got all the help you need already... :D
One thing to remember is to avoid gradients and soft edges on animated gifs. They blow up the file size and looks grainy or banded (if you don't use dithering). If you're planning to have a lot of frames on your gif file, make the drawings as clean as possible and limit the number of colors you want to use.

Re: How Is This?
Hi!
Yeah Buddy list is okay ... Don't know how you use it though:D
Car was just a small clip art gif that I had. Didn't hav time to draw one as wanted to do a quick reply before you went off line...
