First in a series of Christmas propotional leaflets for a client
Limited market one might suppose.
Or would that be a niche market?
Baby wipes might sell more readily ...
Nice one, I know this gorilla drawing. Did you make it?
Two current works in progress.
The first will be a mill house, intitially kicked off by someone saying they couldn't find a mill house and the second being mostly an exercise in shading.
Must get back to that bike .. haven't touched it in a month ...
Big Frank you're famous, but I found that out only now! I saw this drawing many times and could never imagine it was you who made it :)
Raymond: Terrific drawing, love your self portrait. I especially like it how you mastered the technique of drawing cloth wrinkles and shades. Keep it on!
I finished this one last month. It was from the same article that I did the computer worm pic for included in this month's Xara Xone featured art gallery.
Great work, Zeb. :)
I always find the cartoon work complicated. Itīs the kind of work that some people are skilled for and others simply donīt. Thereīs no middle term.
Great work Zeb!
Not a complex drawing but oh! boy does it contain a lot of information with all those deft little touches, a real master of the art. Well done as always Zeb.
I haven't posted any work for ages, so here's a WIP of my trusty scooter. Mind you, the way things are going I'll be lucky to finish it by next November! (I'm definitely not looking foward to doing the tires. :D)
something I was busy with
Beginning of a still life. I'm quite pleased with the jug, apart from the handle and I think the veg is starting to look reasonable.
Derek
Yeah, they are right around the corner! It's nearly that time of the year again!
Everything is great here :)
masque> Really nice colors and structure of surface. I'm looking forward to final version.
Monochromatic tracing sometimes produces inspirational things. This is based on one of them.
My brother sent me a email with a print of the old Harwich-Zeebrugge Train Ferries I used to work on. I thought I'd have a go at superimposing some fog to the scene. (It was always foggy in them days)
I do remember those fogs in the good old days where you couldn't find your way home if you were caught out.
However I think your fog is a little too even, needs a few swirly patches of denser stuff perhaps.
Derek
Prefer blue skies myself ... with added fog for realism ..
This post might be inappropriate if so, delete away, I won't grumble.
Just started this picture of the F-14 tomcat fighter.
well somebody was talking about some magix deal, so what`s the deal with magix`s? So I redid their logo a bit. although that wasn`t the deal. ;)

My wife reckons it looks too busy, but the hardest thing is what to leave out? Also she says the background gives her a headache :(
Boy, do I love the rounded bevel tool!
She's right. Trust me.
Very nice logo ankhor, I like the last one. I like it how you made the shadows and bevels nice work.
Here's my aircraft picture, not finished but I don't think I will work on it more, too many small details.
Sorry, the following attachment is not exactly Nov 2006, but considering its never been used for anything i thought i just post it here. No transparent fillings are used, its 'fully' pdf postscript compatible.
Nostaw. what a wonderful drawing, it must have taken you ages to do and so much patience to do it. Thanks for sharing it with us, I will learn a lot from your technique.
*****Norman
Thanks norman! It took me roughly about 6 hours if i recall correctly. And of course I had a couple of reference pictures googled off the web. With a good reference picture in the background you only need xara's colorpicker, to draw some shapes - and patience :)
Oooo. That Tut is gorgeous.
Availor...sometimes a bit of artistic license can make something look more realistic. ;)
Superbe farao, Nostaw :) !!!
I'm working on this 'still life', but I think it's still too dull.:(
Any suggestions?
Its more of a landscape than a still life, you need to emphasise the foreground elements of your still life, make them larger within the picture with less space between them and make the background what its meant to be; the background, and so less dominant. The essence of a still life for me is the relationship between the dominant elements, the way they reflect light and colour off each other and form together into a cohesive whole rather than appear as a collection of separate objects.
Go for it
