Let's hear it for our 4 featured artists. Two of whom you know and two of whom you might not know.
Feedback is always nice.

Wonderful tutorial, as always. I've read through it, but will have to wait until this evening before actually drawing along with your instructions. :)
Excellent featured artists having four different styles. Shows that no matter what your style of art Xara Xtreme is a versatile tool.

Gary,
Outstanding tutorial! You really covered alot of Xara's different tools in this one. I look forward to working through it sometime later this week.
Thanks.

The show:
Raymond (Intbel): marvelous! Specially the first flower :)
Peter Windmill: unbelievable! The light is beautiful :)
Finn Bouttcher: funny and I like the speed in the lines very much :D
Zeb: very professional comics graphics with a human (animal?) touch :)
It would be very nice if one (or all) of these artists could give us a guest tutorial !
This is my light bulb, which was a challenge again ! Super tutorial Gary!

I just got around to the featured artists, and there's some truly exceptional work in there.
Superlatives to all of them!

Gary,
The use of a dotted stroke is an excellent tip. Thanks.

I enjoyed following the instructions for this tutorial. Using the dotted stoke is engenious.

You have the patience of a saint, both in doing these illustrations and then in dissecting them painstakingly for the great unwashed. Well done :)

Very nice work Marcia and Bill.
Tell me something, the dimensions for the rectangle in the 1st page looks too small, what width did you two use.
The grand master, Gary , has a width of 215, shortened to 170.
Have I done something wrong here, as my curves impede on the circle.
God help me, I have even sent Gary a line with the same question

Re: November Xara Xone - New Tutorial - 4 Featured Artists - FREE!
Hi Jim, the rectangle is fine, but the cirkel has to be 200 pixels and not 300...
Is that what you meant? :) Bill (Soquili) did use a 300 pix cirkel, as you can see,
and I used the 200 pix.

Merci vraiment Marcia,
In the space of 20 mins, looking closely at the 2 pics, I thought as much.
Once again, a very nice image

I have corrected this on page one and also as Marci has so keenly observed, added a Profile 1 Position Profile on the contour shape on Page 6.
Thanks for the corrections.

Re: November Xara Xone - New Tutorial - 4 Featured Artists - FREE!
Hi Gary, CD Question: Is there a "2nd" CD with stuff that wasn't on the CD that came with Xtreme? (I guess, in a way, I am asking has there been enough stuff to make a 2nd CD yet?)
Want to have All the Great Tutorials at Hand so I can Work with -and Learn...
Thanks - Tom

Re: November Xara Xone - New Tutorial - 4 Featured Artists - FREE!
Quick Question:
In the October news letter there is a tutorial of a pencil by Josè Campoy. They also mention that he did a tutorial for an egg. The reference for these tutorials is, where else, TalkGraphics, what a great place to be!!! I digress, is there anyone that can tell me where to find the egg tutorial, and any other little cache of tutorials that might be kicking around; not that I don't have enough to keep me busy for this year and next, but I would, particularly, like to try out the egg.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Brian,
The tutorial you looking for was in the September 2006 Outsider. The link is http://www.xara.com/news/september06/tutorial.asp

Thanks for the link...

The egg tutorial was easy, but fun. What I liked most about it was his encouraging participants to use layers.

While not as old as your 'Light' blubs, I worked at a Print Shop and have My Name in Cast Metal Type (back when they set up pages to be printed line by line from 'Hot' Type -lead melted and cast to form a line of the type that you wanted -then put in a case to print the Page -the machine was huge, with a gas power burner to melt the cast material with what looked like a organ keyboard -this was a step up from type setting a page letter by letter... then we move to electronic typesetting -DTP- lots of Orphaned Lino-Type machines - it was an Education to work with a Real Printer) :)

I'm pleased to say that I have done a whole bunch or "Egg's" tutorials. They are great for newbie’s and advanced alike I'd say...
I particularly liked his mailing label one, as I found his techniques for creating cut-out’s very helpful..

Hwy101, I know exactly what you mean. Back in my pre-teen days, there was a weekly small town paper called the Sutton Reporter and they used to have the lead letters like you mentioned. I often went in to see the presses and to see them blocking up (I think they called it) a page. They would give us kids enough letters to spell out name.
That would have been about 1952 - Oh how time flies
