That's cool - does it work?Quote:

Thank you. I enjoyed doing that one.Quote:

That's a fantastic job you've done there of animating the gun Raymond:D
How did you remove it from the light background so cleanly ... Xtreme??
I agree with the sentiment but do really like guns, it's not the guns that pull their own triggers ... Is it?
Think I'll add another path picture on a new thread (Hate to think you got nuttin to play with);)
Of course I used Extreme - what else?Quote:

Plenty to play with - folks will keep on posting pics which scream out to be animated. Not my fault.
Kiwi - your original drawing is great - very well done
Intbel - so is the animation and humor - great

By the way Kiwi there is something in my Artist? post today that might interest you.
I notice Egg uses "Intersect" shapes ... I use "Subtract Shapes."
As always, in Xara, there is more than one way of doing things.
Just an observation - no wish to begin a debate on which is best as the 'best' way is whatever works best for the user at the time.
Attached is what I think is a good example of image extraction using Xara.
Of course, once you have your finished edit you can save it and put it mostly anywheres:
And then there's me. I prefer to use slice, that way I can drag the offending piece to one side and stomp, kick and slap the little bugger into submission:D. Each to his own..........frank
So much for gentle stroking of of images by empathic artists using subtle persuasion by the skilful and sensitive use of finely-tuned aethsetic awareness in conjunction with close-tolerance high-precision tools. :DQuote:

Yep! I have seen that tut and had a play to familirise myself but so far have never felt the need because everything I use in my pics and animations, I draw myself.
Not as good as the originals 'Granted" but all mine!:)
That's how they probably invented the wheel in the first place :D . It worked, too...Quote:

Kiwi, great bike. Is that Xara or PI? Long time since I've done any serious vectoring with PI, though. Might take up the challenge one of these days....the lack of boolean (union, difference, intersect, etc) means you have to draw complicated paths manually with the pen tool in PI. But other than that, I admit I'm more comfortable making vector shapes in PI than in real vector programs. I guess it's just because it's the first program I've learned to use bezier curves with.
"Real vector programs GM"
PI path edits good!:D
No it's not a xara but it was after all my first love:o
Yep did the bike in PI.
Raymond,
When you cut/sliced the background out with xtreme, are you doing one small area at a time or is there a way to be able to feather the edges of multiple shapes individually?
I had a play as per the tut and was able to remove one area and feather nicely but when going on to more areas of the same picture, then any feathering would obviously detract from the appearance of the previous background extraction??
What tut?
I ain't made a tut.
If you mean the Bonnie - not sure what you mean about feathering multiple shapes individually.
I start with the original pic then cut outthe bits I don't want.
So I have a pic full of holes - a single object which can be manipulated as required.
F'rinstnce. a one px feather when applied, is applied to all edges.
That tut!Quote:
