The following drawing is a Optical Illusion.

Nice work Remi, have you tried putting them in Xara 3 d just to see what happens?
This is a quick test in X3D. I've used my first picture from this thread. As expected, a simple extrusion function isn't enough to create these forms in 3D...Quote:

Remi,
If you would be kind enough to send them as xar files I would like to see what I might be able to do with them.
Here's one I created a couple of years ago. (Best viewed at full scren. Use F11 to toggle between screens)
That was a fun thing to do. Neat!Quote:

Thanks for sharing this, Egg. Did you include a counter, how many tours the boot already turned? :)
Remi
A-mazed again
Don't look too much at the following one - it will confuse you and it gives bad feelings.
btw: Norman, I hope you feel better?
I'm fine thanks Remi, that illusion looks a bit like how my woodworking projects turn out.
My contribution.
Summat about square pegs in round holes.
Story of my life ...
Here's another one to add to the collection. Start of a good thread here I think Remi
Story of your life? Did you ever consultate a doctor therefore? :DQuote:

Good grief no. Why would I want to do that?Quote:

Kind of difficult to colour this one It's not my idea someone else's
And this one...
Anas
I think it was when I was a teenager, I bought a couple of books that have nothing but pictures of these types of drawings... They were called "The Impossible Coloring Book" vol. 1 & 2 or part 1 & 2. Anyhow, thought I'd mention it... not sure if these books are still available for those interested. :)
A coiled spring?

You may wish to take a trip to http://www.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/index-e.html
Some fascinating images there :)
Dave
salaam, that is one of the best coiled springs i have ever seen
or so i thought, until i saw two starting points of the spring in the foreground
does this need correction or am i wrong?
Thanks Bob,
I made it on X3D with a series of rings with the 2 end rings incomplete (3/4 segments).
I wanted it to look like a spring even though it is not possible to create such shapes directly on X3D. At the same time I wanted the viewer to realise that it can not possibly be a coil, that is why I left the 2 ends visible at the front.

A cold Spring?Quote:

Now walk away from your monitor by 10 to 15 feet.
What is it?
The further away y'are the better it looks - in the same way that bagpipes sound better the further you get away from 'em.
Reminds me of what Mark Twain said about Wagner's music. He said that it was not as bad as it sounds, or words to that effect.Quote:

I bet even Parahandy can't think up a gag for this one.
Not sure if this is an example of an illusion though. I just assumed that it was a photo of a head blown up and it was. Or maybe I need a bigger office.
Anas
Blimey! You could make a fortune wth a mirror like that!
Imagine all the folks who think they are ugly looking in the mirror and seeing a beautiful countenence gazing back at 'em.
Um .. exactly which image is the reflection in your example please?
Anas, I like your impossible 3D objects.
Remi
Really nice objects.
I will save them to get under hands.
And another sort of illusion.
Not sure it will impress on monitor.
Are you already know what is this?
Yeah, try walking my dog. My right arm is regular length and is used for scratching my arse and the left are drags on the ground; very convenient for pulling on my socks without having to bend over but painful when I keep stepping on it........oh, I presume you were looking for suggestions on making your arms longer, maybe I misread:D..........frankQuote:
Um ... neither of my arms can reach more'n about three feet.
Suggestions?
