hahahahahahaha, MOST EXCELLENT! And just who would that handsome young chap be in the picture frame?????
Thanks Norman! I needed a good laugh after a long hard day at work. I like your images. Working the photo into the drawing is a great idea.
Now I need to figure out how to get my hands on that bottle on the floor :D
Norman,
What a fun drawing.

Many, when they have had a few too many are liable to put their foot in it.
To construct this wee mans nose in the shape of a foot brings a whole new meaning to first footing and is a remarkable piece of humour.
Excellent

I am surprised that any one was aware of 'first footing' when I bring it up at 'New Year' I get a restounding WHAT?

Thanks all for those happy remarks.
David , I must admit it was not my intention to draw the nose as a foot but looking at it yes it does resemble a foot with a very sore big toe, good of you to spot it. To those not in the know, first footing is an old scottish tradition where the first visitor to one's home and cross the threshold, was know as your first foot, a dark haired person was preferred and it was the custom to carry a lump of coal amongst other things like a bottle of whisky, food, and all this was reckoned to bring you and you house good luck in the New Year or Hogmanay. Och aye the noo, noo ye ken, if ye didnae ken ye ken noo
Norman
I'm quite surprised no one has asked you what the wee man is going to do with his tickling stick.

AMO
Going Going GONG? My brush is better than your typing/spelling ha ha. I must admit I wasn't too pleased with his paintbrush David but it's only a cartoon after all and I ain't no artist, electronics then River Warden were the jobs I did before being forced to retire because of a heart attack 22 years ago . I had three altogether and cancer but feel fit as fiddle despite my old age.Quote:

let's face it - you draw and we all see different things - but are all smiling as we view your wonderful work!!!
you must be a wonderful man!
Norman
I didn't intend the tickling stick suggestion to be criticism of your paintbrush.
Your cartoon is excellent and it reminded me of that wonderfully humorous old song " Stop your tickling Jock ", hence my suggestion that the wee man's paintbrush could double up as a tickling stick.
I love this wee character and I will look forward to you developing your ideas further. It is good to hear that you are in good fettle and long may you be so.
Best wishes

David. Please believe me I did not take it as critisism, I am very happy that my efforts have received the comments that have been passed and Bob my head has swollen to twice it's size and it was pretty big to start with. To think I had this program for a year couldn't come to grips with it, yet within a few weeks since joining the forum, it all came together watching how other people did used the program. I have nothing but admiration for you all.
The bear was drawn some time ago using the late lamented DPaintII, the rest today with Xtreme.
hahahahahahaha
most excellent! lemon meringue? i love the way you drew that fork too
Will try again.
This clock stopped working 22 years ago and so did I..
Beautiful Norm! The clock may have stopped working and you may have stopped working, but you are STILL PLAYING!!!! hahahahahaha
That's what "working" with Xara is like ------> playing!!!
Glad you found the TIME Bob. Ha HA
Does this remind anyone of their army days?
Norman,
You're quite good with caricatures!
ron
Norm, did you draw that soldier??? If so, you did a GREAT JOB!!!!!
Yes Bob I originally drew it with DPaintII. I accompany this with another oldie..
hahahahaha, MOST EXCELLENT! kind of along the same theme as kiwi and graphicsman are doing animations of right now.
Thanks Ron , my latest effort just evolved from drawing 3 random shapes which I did not have to change, I just filled them up with colour and detail. and lo and behold that funny wee man appeared.
Yes Bob, thats what brought it to my mind I drew the character wondered what to do with him, reduced him in size and made him a kerplunker maker, it evolved from an old joke about this person who joined the navy on an aircraft carrier and to get out of duties he claimed to be a Kerplunker maker the officers so as not to show their ignorance asked him to make a kerplunker. So with a special workshop locked doors and all that , special priviledges, he eventually, after putting them off for several months the great day arrived he produced this Heath Robinson (eccentric english inventor) machine. It was brought up to the main deck with the flight lift, marine bands playing , flags flying .Then with a grinding of gears, tummity tum tummity tum , a little steel ballbearing rose out of the machine rolled down a channel dropped to the deck and rolled about 100 feet to the end of the carrier where it dropped into the ocean and went KERPLUNK!!!!!. so know you know.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
That's great!!! Tell us some more stories, Uncle Norman, I'll keep the campfire going.
Interestingly I had just finished drawing the following draft logo when I checked the list and saw the "Sergeant-Major" cartoon. Spooky or what?
Very good Simon, may I point out your officer has 3 pips denoting a Captain a Major has a crown only. I like the hat.
......Norman
Haha... Kerplunker. Very interesting drawing and story. I did a Google search for kerplunker and was rewarded with two pictures of a girl and one small thumbnail of a guy sitting on a latrine reading ... I guess that's the easier way to make kerplunkers...:D
hahahahahahahahahaha :p
ha ha never thought of that version Grafixman, I thought it was just a made up word. I do remember a story about a farmer who used a hole drilled for oil exploration and abandoned for the site of his "outhouse" that was 2 miles deep come to think of it KERRRRRRRRRRRRplonk. but this is not the place to tell the full story.
Got the answer to my floating Fiat.
home james.
hahahahaha, great drawings norm!!!! that "microphone" thing is showing your age a little... hahahahahahaha
(and i'm glad you anchored down that first car, it was getting ready to take off and leave the computer screen!)
Norman,
This last one is my favorite!
ron
Thank you both for your remarks, I have just been playing around with 3d bump map in the plugins, it wasn't until I read the tutorial that I began to understand what it was for. I don't know yet where I will use it but it seems a useful tool. thanks again. Oh yes Ron I liked yor version of the Gremlinx.
........Norman
The artist? himself
Norman,
You're quite the handsome young man! And an artist to boot!
ron
thanks Ron...........This ones for the kiddies.
