Wonderful MuRa Copies Filter
I have been playing around for about a week with the free
MuRa filter called Copies. Feeding it different vector shapes
and trying out variations of its numerous parameters turned
out some unusual and some nice results. I encourage you to
experiment with it, too.

Re: Wonderful MuRa Copies Filter
I'm new and more ignorant than most. I dl'd the copies filter into my Xara Filters folder and unzipped it there... and nothing.
What SHOULD I be doing???

Re: Wonderful MuRa Copies Filter
Drifter:
Check via Utilities, Options that 'Photoshop Plugins' 'setup' point to the directory where you unzipped them. If not 'add folder' to that location.

Thank you!!!! That worked great! I've been doing that with other plugins but wasn't sure if "filters" were the same thing. Thanks again. AND THANK YOU MIKE FOR POSTING THEM!!!

Re: Wonderful MuRa Copies Filter
I don't think is is absolutely perfect. I generally isolate part of an image and make a repeating array in Xara. Then cut out a tile section. The plugin made is so there weren't bubbles overlaping. Rich

Re: Wonderful MuRa Copies Filter
rich the result is awesome but I'm still not sure how you did this haha

Re: Wonderful MuRa Copies Filter
Well, I went to the beach and photographed bubbles in the tide pools. Then cropped out part of an image for something smaller, and applied the filter. Just adjusted the parameters. Nothing more. Rich

Re: Wonderful MuRa Copies Filter
you mentioned something of a repeating array, unsure what that meant- did you mean in the fill section?

Re: Wonderful MuRa Copies Filter
In Xara, you can draw an object around a section of an image and make a clipview. Add feathering if necessary. Make the object a size that is easy on the math.
Duplicate the object in the X direction i.e.100 pixel increments. Then duplicate the duplicated group in the Y direction. You will get an array with the center being repeating in X & Y. Draw a rectangle at a a multiple of the duplication distance. Maybe 300 X 300 pixels. Place the rectangle over a repeating area. The palcement doesn't need to be exact. Put the rectangle behind and make a clipview. This will make a replicating tile in X & Y. I usually place the clip over a filled object made from a bitmap copy and save to JPG.
