I cannot even conceive of what it took to get these forums transferred over to the new software.
Bravo Anthony and thanks for all the hard work.

Nice work Anthony!! The change over is fabulous..I had no problems at all.
Jim
i will second that... three cheers for AntonyF...:D :D :D
I'll join in also - great job!
You must be relieved! No more depending on other people... You can do it yourself now, and with the help of vBulletin support. If they went through all the agony with you of getting all this moved from infopop, I'm sure anything else you ask of them will be a walk in the park!
Everything is running smoothly. The only thing is that I couldn't find TalkGraphics yesterdayevening. I got this message: -The requested URL /eve/ubb.x was not found on this server-. I tried TalkGraphics.com and there you all were! Could that be a problem for less frequent users, if they're not redirected?
Jolande
Yes, I'd like to say well done, too. The forums are fast, and it must have been real worry that the transition would throw up all sorts of problems. But from where I'm sitting, it looks to have been a bump-free move. Jolly well done, Anthony.
Mike
Thanks everyone, I really do appreciate your comments. It makes the hard work worth it. However you must all thank Jerry at vBulletin too. He has put in a lot of time on keep updating the filters, I'm surprised he didn't give up loooong ago. :D
joto, it takes a time for the domain to propagate properly for everyone everywhere.
Again, congrats Anthony and Jerry :D
Had no troubles with the migration either. Browsed to the XaraX/X1 board yesterday and it was gone, so I figured we'd left infopop and are on our way to vB. So I checked out talkgraphics.com and all was good :D
Okay then -- Thanks to Jerry too!
Antony - I think most of know you tried many test migrations that were frustrating and time consuming for you. I think most of us also know the efforts to not loose years of postings was almost completely for the benefit of this community. Please know those efforts are appreciated.
Regards, Ross
That's not what he meant - try following an old bookmark to the XaraX forum for example, you'll get a default 404 without explanation... you just need to put a note there to explain to people that they need to re-do their bookmarks and links.Quote:

Very good point Daniel. I'll sort out a custom 404 tomorrow.
Just adding my small voice to the people congratulating the successful move, Antony. Most things seems to have survived. (OK, the albums didn't...)
One small thing is that the default for "Display Options" the Photoimpact forum seems to have been set to "From the Last Month". Which led me to falsely believe that the PI forum only had one page. Everything's there if you set it to "From the Beginning". Other forums are defaulted to from the beginning. An oversight, maybe.
I had to set them all manually, so yes an oversight. Will correct that.
We will get all these little problems ironed out over the next few weeks. :)
Just wanted to add my thanks to Antony and Jerry for all of their work.
Maybe now we can all bring this place back to life. ;)
Bravo! Thanks to Anthony and Jerry for a difficult job well done.
"Give up" Hmm I've heard something about that, not too sure what it means, I've not heard it at vBulletin HQ before ;)Quote:

All praise Jerry who has graced us with his presence! :D
I'd love it if Jerry had one of those tallies on his wall (like they do in jail cells in movies to show days have elapsed) of messageboard communities that have been saved from Infopop.
Of course Jerry can't bad mouth his opposition, but I can. Bye bye Infopop. :) Good riddance! Jerry saved us. :p
Hail Jerry!
Customer service - a wonderful thing! :)
Just popping in to let you know that we-who-dwell-in-lurkdom are also highly appreciative of the mammoth task accomplished by the two named gentlemen (and their associates, no doubt). I am looking forward to a restoration of the aesthetic visual health of all of us who have been feeling rather image-deprived of late.
Thank you; and blessings unto you, your children, and your children's children (etc., etc., etc.).
Glen
(P.S.) This is a very minor concern, and one that I am in no rush to see addressed; but when you have a chance, my user name should be "GroWeb" (with a capital 'G' and a capital 'W') rather than "groweb" (with no capitals). Thanks.
Hi everyone. I've only just logged in to the new look forums. Nice one Anthony. :)
Does look great. I do notice this reply area loads a bit slowly though!!
Really like the layout, the menus, the options and just everything!! :p
All the best to ya's!!
Anthony and Jerry, I'm very pleased to have both of you working so hard for me --and even for free! :-) It looks quite promising, I will probably visit TG more often from now on.
Richard...
WE finally get to see the latest Universal Being. Been over a year. Like this cape much better. :)
Actually John that's a 3D character I put together. Although that does give me a very good idea about maybe creating a 3D Universal Being!! Thanks! :)
Sorry for the OT folks
All the best
Hey Antony, thanks for getting the capitals back into my user name. You sure acted fast on that one!
Wanted to add my thanks to Antony and Jerry for all the work they did.
Great new options, I like the New Posts and my favorite, Quick Link Who's Online Because you can see what people are reading.:)
JohnLogan.:D
Yes indeed, thanks for the board overhauled, and all the effort put in to such. :)
Not having to navigate 15 pages on a slow system helps on that. It's not just you guys that benefit from this system move. :DQuote:

Did you notice just before the move, Antony had been "busy on X2"... Let's hope that is the next Big Thing!
