http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Those are terrific Glen and Mike---awwwwwww!
Well I guess I'll start with my dog "Bear"....
This first one was when I first got him and he was in summer coat and still a pup (he's a mix of Golden Ret., Chow, Rottie, Boxer and Coyote, and is a big boy now http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif).
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ar9_2_04sm.jpg
...here's a portrait pic with his winter fur coat... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ar_jan2005.jpg
...and here's the Nubian goat kids, Moe and Larry (they are now twice this size = will be the size of deer at 3 yrs. old)...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...arry9_5_04.jpg
...and they are great buddies with Bear and play constantly -- nowadays all are old enough to be on the property together free and only in the pen/barn at night...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...larry_chat.jpg http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Those are great Maya.
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Okay here's a sample of some of my animal painting...yeah I got the animal thing bad..... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
...this is just a portion of a much larger painting which is 24"x36" with the whole cat...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...c_closeup2.jpg
...this is a small study for a larger later work to include the entire eagle in flight and scenery...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...e_painting.jpg
...this is one of the raven pair on our property...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../ravenxmas.jpg http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
And you paint too.. you're too much... they're beautiful.
Glenn
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Thanks Glen! Thanks Mike! Yeah, I'm really just a painter, I dabble in digital art now, and a bit in being a shutterbug too as it's loads of fun! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Guess as this is the animal thread I might as well bring over my recent bee and deer pics...

We are going to have to start a Maya Fan Club!
Ok... I found this one in my archives... along with my 6 lb. Deja, I have an 80 lb. German Shepherd, Koti. this was taken a few years ago (she's almost 12 now) with my first digital Kodak 1.6 mp.
http://thenetbuys.com/coppermine/alb...002/koti26.jpg
and I second the Maya Fan Club!
Koti looks like a puppy there.
like I said.. dug into the archives... that was about 5 years ago... (sigh)
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Awwwwwww Koti is very pretty!!! We had neighbors for a while who had 3 shepherds, one black and tan like this, named Suzie, the other 2 were all black with yellow eyes, named Sarah and Ricky.
Well, closest thing I have to something like that type of dog... might as well drag out and dust off the old Xara wolf I made a few years ago... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...lf_sketchx.jpg
I remember that post, Maya, wow is time going by that fast?
Great drawing...
Oh, I have one more dog, a min-pin, named pipsqueak which I'll find a pic when I get home.
so where does the Maya Fan Club meet?
Glenn
This was taken at Danger Point, near where the Birkenhead sank off the coast of Africa, and on which vessel the injunction "Women and children first!" was coined (all the men on board were lost, and all the women and children were saved).
That eye looks like some sort of tiny semi-precious stone...

Woweee Anton, that's an excellent spider closeup!!! Do you happen to know what kind it was? The eyes do look like glittering gemstones! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Birkenhead is also a name of an area in NZ (S. Island), I remember seeing that name on a map...
John, the elusive bunnys are definitely hard to catch. We have little ones here, they usually come out for snacking on the clover in the early morning. I rescued 3 orphaned cottontails when I lived in NC, I kept them till they were able to be on their own then was able to release them back into the garden (where they frequently stuffed themselves on the carrots and other veggies, but there was plenty for all http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif ).
Great posts! Anoton wait till Rich checks in and see's your bug! John bunny wabbits? you are still sick! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Glenn the meetings are on the 5th of every month in Maya's Estate out there at the end of the universe.
Maya be careful the paparazzi are right around the corner http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Yeah, if I had an estate like Lara Croft that would be fun! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Here's some Sinclair Wetlands waterfowl...Mallards and an Australian Cape Barrens goose...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...aterfowlsm.jpg
...and here's a "pet" (too bad he's stuffed -- he likes to eat bananas, he comes from the ancient lineage of St. Polymer)... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

This statue of a dog is part of the menorial to Gelert, the faithful hunting hound of Prince Llywelyn.
The story goes that, one day in around the 12th century, when Llywelyn was out hunting, Gelert was unaccountably not with him. Upon his return home, he found his baby son Gruffudd's cot overturned, and blood everywhere -- also on the jaws of Gelert, who leapt up to greet his master. Grief-stricken and thinking the worst, Llywelyn drew his sword and plunged it into Gelert's side. As the dog's howl of anguish died with him, Llywelyn heard a snuffling cries of Gruffudd, and found him in a corner under cotcloths, safe and unharmed. He also found the corpse of a great wolf, which Gelert had slain in defence of Gruffudd.....
There is a small memorial at Beddgelert (literally, "Gelert's Grave") in North Wales, and this is part of it. The grave is still there.

Circumstanial evidence will get the dog kicked every time...
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Quite the duck pond there John -- looks so peaceful!
Great tale, Anton, the dog statue pic has a very history-laden feel with the lighting. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Hey this is great! I have always been an animal lover. I like everyones pictures and Maya's paintings are very nice too. I wil post my doggie pictures here in a bit.
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Terrific Bruce! We'll all enjoy seeing your pets and any other nature pics! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
My oldest and best buddies for 17 years. Buster and Midnight, Buster was a brown and white Basenji mix and Midnight was Black and white and Cocker Spaniel mix. They have passed on now, but I will never forget them they were my family for 17 years and I will see them again someday.

http://www.artist4hire.net/temp/dogs/midnight2.jpg
http://www.artist4hire.net/temp/dogs/bustermidi.jpg
While Buster and midnight were still alive, I was working on the Pima Indian reservation at the senior centor and someone had abandoned this little dog there and I adopted her. I named her Princess. Im not sure what kind of dog she is, maybe a border collie, terrier mix ? But she is a beautiful dog, very smart and very well behaved. She is still with me today, I call her my Indian Princess.
http://www.artist4hire.net/temp/dogs/IMG_0002.jpg
Then for a while, I had Buster, Midnight, Princess and I got these 2 little puppies. I was taking care of them for some friends and they were supposed to go to a friends place on the Navajo reservation when they grew up. The brown one is Cujo and the White one with brown ears was called Brown Ears. http://www.artist4hire.net/temp/dogs/IMG_0005.jpg
For a time I had 5 dogs at the house. Here you can see 4 of them napping on the couch. 2004 was tough because after this picture, Brown Ears was taken by Parvo, then Buster and Midnight passed, but they had a good long life.
http://www.artist4hire.net/temp/dogs/pups1.jpg
Today, I still have my Indian Princess and the little Brown Dog named Cujo. He is a mini Pit Bull mix and has lived up to his name. He has chewed up a lot of furniture and the wooden siding on the back of my house. And now he likes to mark his territory since he has grown up. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/mad.gif But I still love him and he is my best new buudy. Here is Cujo all grown up.

http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Wonderful pics of your friends there, Bruce! I've had more dogs than cats...
Here we go...some friends I have known... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
A black lab named Deke -- (all these pics are quite old scanned ones, poor quality, sorry), here just a pup. I did train him to retrieve, he went with Paul duck hunting, for pheasant and quail.

Very nice looking Dogs Maya, The birds and the Cat look nice too. I had a few cats when I was younger but I have always been a dog person. I never had any birds.
And we even got to see a picture of you. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Yep, I'm just an animal person I guess.
When I moved from California to NC I had to find homes for the parrots I had...too long and arduous a move to drive across country with the many I had. I miss them a lot. Butter was so sweet...he's not "biting" me in the photo, just playing http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif , he never bit me, and just loved to play, as in the picture. The parrots are every bit as smart and full of personality as any dog or cat. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
here is a picture of Roxie taken last summer before she got sick and passed away. she was 120 -130lbs in this pic she was a huge rottie. one of her pups from her last litter about 6 yrs ago now weighs in about 160-170 lbs. . as you can see by the couch how big she was. she later passed away in october after a brief fight with pyrometria. she was almost 11yrs old. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
