I've just posted a set of new logos for a photographer http://www.gwpriester.com/pkp/
Paul's work is very bold and his colors are rich and saturated. I tried to convey this in my designs.
Your feedback is always valuable and helpful to me.

My favorite was #7, but there were a lot of great options to pick from. Good job, Gary.

Design 2 for its clean simplicity and subtle sophistication. (If you wanted to kick it up a notch - ugh! - perhaps you could color the "leaves" of the shutter...?)
-
Love the style of these. I think you have definetely conveyed the bold image. I like all of them except 4 and 11. If I had to choose, it would be either 9 or 7.

I think my fav's are 1,7,8 & 9. If I had to pick one I'd choose #9.
Number 2 is nice & would work really well as a trademark type design. That's nice, the P.
What did the client say? Sometimes (as we know)the client doesn't always choose the better designs.
Creatively, I like the flow of them.
Good work gAry! Happy Client should they make...

I like 1, 2, and 9

My choices are 2, 7, and 10 in that order.

1 and 8, with a slight preference for 1.
I think it's the combination of the colour with the obvious photography elements.
-
I like the logo of design 2 and the lettering of design 8.

Gary, I prefer #1. It's simple and attractive. I think #1 the best for identity and printings.

Number 2 gets my vote.
Also, the sprocket strip off Number 1 combined somehow with the colors and design of Number 7 would be very interesting to see!
Good luck,
Steve

I like your lens in #8. So much so that I hate seeing it covered in part by the lettering.
How about using your lens in a simple arrangement like this? ( with a serif font for drama?) - Andrew

Really great logos! How about putting a 'K' in the middle of the 2nd logo, then you would have both a 'P' and a 'K' in it?
-Paul

1,6,2
Should you also think of your logo in Balck & White as well?
-
I think 8,1,and 7 in that order.Very nice selection Gary.

Hi Gary,
I would find it hard to choose between nos 2 and 9 without knowing more about what Paul needs.
No 2 is clever, but simple, clear and eyecatching. Would work in small sizes.
No 9 is really classy, but a bit more expensive to print I think, it also may not work on a fax machine.
Great work.

I really like number six but you don't make it easy to pick a favorite!
If you were doing a website for him I think No.6 best suggests a unique style.

#1, #8 and #12.
They cover the whole spectrum of print and web use. Not too busy (too many colors for the eye to rest) and not too "flat" (nothing "pops" out).

#2
I have posted two revisions for Paul to review: 13 and 14, which use colors found in some of Paul's images, and a new design, #15.
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback. It is always interesting to hear how my designs are perceived by the design world.
My favorites, by the way, are #1, #2, #5, and #7.

The winning design was a combination of Design #2, adjusted to reflect colors that often appear in Paul's photographs, and a blue iris with a modified highlight.
Thanks again to all who contributed to this thread. Paul read all of your comments as well and I think your comments helped him to make the final selection.

This thread was 7 years old. The link to Gary's logos has not been valid for years.
How did you view logos 2 and 8? :)
