Thanks Maya, I love the spooky stuff.
Its great to see your art appearing in the gallery. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Are you still using Mojo and ZBrush?
Hi Mike! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Thanks, I was away from doing any art really for many months, and I also went to New Zealand twice, so I spent about 6 weeks over there. I've only just resumed doing some artwork and just got PS7 so these little images are my first forays into playing with Photoshop7 and learning what it can do. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif I'm loving it though, it feels very natural to me to use and is my favorite ap now. I still have MJW but haven't done anything recently with it, ZBrush the same --- but I think I'll save ZBrush for when I have a puter with more RAM and can handle the 100% cpu usage which goes on even when it idles. I'm leary of that, I don't want to have a melt down just for using ZBrush! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/eek.gif I also have Painter8 which I have yet to play with....AND Satori PhotoXL which is another great paint program. So, I've got plenty in the toolbox, along with Xara as well, to goof around with and I'm just getting started. I'd heard all these things about PS being hard to learn, etc. but I haven't found it to be at all that way, and I just love it. It may be a huge ap but it really is a powerhouse with what you can do with it.
Autumn is my favorite time of year...also Halloween my favorite holiday, so I started with these themes in PS and the starfields I posted earlier.
here's an experiment in PS just playing with the leaf brush and a font then trying for a 3D-like effect using the blending options...FUN!
---Maya
Cool Maya,,
You have some real nice software. Photoshop is superb. ZBrush is an amazing program as well, yes it does max out the processor but its worth it. I have'nt noticed any harmful effects. I realize that it renders on the fly and believe that to be the reason for the processor use, I have noticed that my cpu settles down a bit when there is no active 3D object in edit mode. Pushing thousands of polygons around with instant feedback has a price. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
There is a ton of neat stuff you can do with photoshop. Did you make the leaf brush yourself or was it included?
I have some cool custom brushes, one click trees, clouds, bushes, lightning and such.
Its Fun...
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Hi Mike! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
The leaf brush I used was what was originally included in PS7. I haven't made any custom brushes yet. I've only started trying out the pen tool, blending mode options, other tools and some of the included filters. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif It's really loads of fun!
...here's a design inspired by a spiderweb...
---Maya http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
Very cool Maya.
I have a few spiders that live in my house, they seem to balance the food chain between the ants and lizards, I have to use the vacuum on the webs once in a while. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
I have a fun weekend coming up, I'm riding my old Harley Davidson down to Key West for the annual poker run. Its party time!
http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Thanks Mike! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Spiders, lizards, ants and Key West eh....I lived in St. Augustine, FL for a couple years --- loved it I might add --- and remember well the big wolf spiders, green anole lizards, fire ants and big black carpenter ants...as well as the "bombers" and huge grasshoppers, etc. hahaha http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Sounds like a cool weekend you've got ahead of you -- have FUN! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Maya, it's good to see some of your work again...no matter what program you use, the talent shows.
Mike, there was a big bike show here last week, motorcycles all over the place which led to a discussion of Harleys...you don't have to see the bike to know it's a Harley because the engine sound is so distinctive. I was told that they have copyrighted that sound...don't know if that's true or even possible. Have a great time in Key West...love the spookster!
Mickie
Thanks Mickie! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif It's good to hear from you too, and I appreciate your very kind comment and your having a look at these and Mike's great "Spookster". http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif As I'm just learning PS7 it's what I'm spending the time with these days...I still use XaraX from time to time though. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
...here's another one painted in PS7...what's for dinner??? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

Ooh, thats a good one Maya. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Hi Mickie, Las Vegas, You are in the thick of it ay! Disney for adults. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Po-ta-to--Po-ta-to is the sound HD wants to patient. Actualy HD has several different engines, each one has a distinctive sound. I ride a shovel head, it always marks its spot with a little oil. People always say to me, they wish the evolutions sounded like a shovel.
Well, I'm outa here for a few days.
Catch ya later folks.

Thanks Mike! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif ...and if anyone is gettin' kinda hungry here's a great recipe for the big night! (I cooked it up in the PS7 cauldron http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif )

Hi Maya and Mark,
Some excellent works posted here. I haven't had any time lately to work on any graphics. It's great to be able to enjoy seeing other peoples' art.
Soquili
Good to hear from you, Soquili! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Well, I hope maybe sometime before Halloween you get a chance to post an image with us, if you'd like to, it would be great!!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Don't work too hard!
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi! :---Maya
Hi Maya,
I worked in an hour or so to do a quick image. This was done using PS7's smudge tool with a little bit of burn tool here and there. I think this is the first I've done from start to finish in PS7.
Soquili
Fun one, Soquili! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif I like the shading and the drippy frosting like lettering --- looks good enough to eat! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/eek.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif haha! So this is the first all PS7 image you've done?? Well looks great! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif I really enjoy painting with it as well as working with photos...now I can't imagine not having it to use!
Thanks for posting and sharing that Halloween treat with us, Soquili! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Hi Maya,
I don't recall the three witches in MacBeth looking that good. Very nice parody.
Hi Mike,
She does look very WICKED, and obviously not a "white" witch.
Soquili

---Maya http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Thats pretty cool Maya, I always had a sweet tooth for candy corn.
I stayed out to late last night and consumed to much Vampire Beer, the light hurts my eyes and I'm a bit dizzy. Think I will go lay down in my coffin.
