There is a pic I will post first that I used as the object to work from.
Then I painted it and then added all sorts of effects and smudging, blurring, bristle smearing, stamping, cloning, transparency, text. I don't think I left anything out

hey good job (although the starting pic wasn't too bad either ) .... nice design and colours. How did you like working on it in PI.

I really liked what you did and then I saw another of your earlier postings and went crazy and wanted to join in the fun
The original picture was from this thread from the XaraX forum. I really liked the renaming colors thing but don't have the time to sit and figure it out, but I downloaded the file and played with it a little bit more and then exported it as a .jpg and imported it into PI and that's the end result
Glad you like it
PS: Joined iMira today, I'll see if it's easy enough to post pics that I do there and link them to the other forum and I hope to god I don't start getting a bunch of spam all of a sudden, I will not be a happy camper if that happens!

HEY Maya, I feel like I got caught and I wanted too
Hey Gidget, I love Canadian accents!! I can even hear them in my mind when I am reading text! It's funny, I met a guy on line that lives in Canada (Ontario) and we became good friends to the point where we've talked on the phone here and there. He thinks **I** have the accent, ME! Mr. California!!! I'm transplant from Florida, you should here me when I'm tired, the ole' twang comes RIGHT back!!!
Yea, it's addictive but it's not going to be a little more slow going unlike what I did with XaraX. I am still a PhotoPaint fan but after seeing Davids images I was really impressed. AND I already have an addictive personality so don't tell my that!! I'll never go to bed playing around on PI
Thanks for the warm welcome and I'm glad to be here
If your wondering how I got the "star gate" effect I took the advice of Stephanie and using the stamp tool chose the star stamp, put 1 in then hit the space key to make it it's own object then kept doing that, lined them up and then cloned the line and kept cloning each line, then chose the tool to rotate and got them lined up vertically and did the cloning thing then flipped them to get them evenly in place on the other side. That took about an hour to do (I was learning as I was going along), then once in place I saved the file as a UFO file (makes me think of aliens for some reason ) then I selected the star burst and saved that as a seperate UFO file, then I copied the image into a new file and "merged all" then took the bristle smear tool and smeared from the inside out all the way around. Kinda made me think of Wonder Woman for some reason (Linda Carter, anyone remember her??).
I do have a question: Does PI have a Fractal Plazma tool on board??? I discovered the transparency settings but Plazma is one of my favorite tools to add texture to areas to a touch of a realistic effect to the image.
Maya, you should give a whirl!! I know, I know you are too busy with that fabulous new 3D app that you got, lucky girl
