I need for a poster design I'm working.

What version of Xara are you using? There are certainly ways to go about this but the methods would be different depending on what version you have.
Attached image created 100% in XDP (Based on Ps tutorial) if you like it and you have any of XD versions,
I can tell you how you can create it.
BP
I really like that Mohamed! Nice to see you dropping by! :) I for one would love to know how you created that :)
Thanks Frances, Well i would like to try it your self at first, so i will post for now the link adress of the tut. of Ps and you can try it your self and will adding two images maybe you can see the idea of creating this glowing effect in XDP. Please, if you did it post your result in this thread, at the end i will share with you how i created it.

Thanks for the link I'll definitely have a look!
Here is an attempt. I am stuggling with trying to replicate PS blending modes such as the colour dodge. I'll be looking forward to seeing how you did this so well :)

Thanks Frances for sharing your drawing result, itīs great, but please donīt read the tut. so exact we know this is for Ps, just translate the drawing in XD, eg, use shadows with many different colors and adjustments and trans. too in XD, another example the repeating steps in my drawing is about 12 times not 20 like in the tut
All the trick here is to draw the text line (2 PT), apply shadow with color, clone, Lock the original and feel free to reposition the clone, move it a bit, resizing it a bit, change the outline color, change the shadow color and repeat this for about 12 times, then group all text lines. and ........
Anyway, here attached images is Part#1 of my XD Tutorial for the background.
BP
Here Part#2 & 3 of the XDP Tutorial.
Note: all my drawing steps started from the bottom to the top exactly like the Layers in the Page & Layer Gallery.
Hope that help, please let me know if there are some drawing technique questions regarding the work XDP? and i will be happy if you can share the result with us.
BP
Thanks for that BP. I have been wondering about you. How are you doing?
I see now where we differed in our approach, applying the glow shadow to the bottom layer only and locking it down is what I was missing. I gave my glow shadow a multi colour linear fill as well. Thanks for posting this Mohamed, this is a great technique!
You are very welcome Larry and Frances,
@Larry, thanks i do well now,
I hope to see some works done in DP with this drawing technique.
Anyway, here is a new drawing using the same technique created from my mind using another font.
BP
I used this technique to do a birthday card for my husband he thought it was really cool!

Way cool Frances! =D> I'm still working on mine.
Great drawing Frances, one questions please, you will add any another drawing elements to the birthday card or not?
@Larry, looking forward to see your drawing, sorry, i know my english in written Tutorials is not the best,
but i try to add graphics elements to the tutīs. to make it easy to understand!
Here is a new drawing using the same technique.
Ps: congratulations Frances for your husbandīs birthday.
BP
I left space on the birthday card for a personal message that for obvious reasons I left out of the version I posted on the forum ;)
I love it when someone requests a technique, everyone goes to a lot of trouble to explain, and the person requesting the technique never reappears.
Well, at least it gives us something to do. Nice solutions. Especially BP's last one.
here is one of my attemps to do it not completely exact
my knowledge of graphic designer need some more time but it is a very good tutorial and the images explain it well
it made me work with different tools I learned a lot from it I redo one of these days the tutorial
greetings
(also my english is not perfect)Attachment 91355
Thanks Gary, and thank you Germaine for posting your drawing have seen it now, well, this is good and you have improved the drawing yourself, but if you donīt mind there are some points i would like to say in my attached image that is if you want to create it like my tut. but feel free to change and create what you like in your drawing.
BP
thank you for the help
I try to redo it later this week and let you know how it comes out I work in an older version
I also want to try this rope tut in graphic designer

will continue later this week
something what I can t find is draw the checker
the mould tool apply floor perspective I found
greetings
I work in graphic designer 5
Hi Germaine, the "R" here looks better, but i see you have moved it more than resizing it, itīs OK., but when you give fill to this group, will have not the right effect of the Glow, anyway if you like it so then Ok.
Regarding the checker, attched two images on how to draw it, i hope i wrote the instructions right and you can understand my english, let me know if you have any hard break.
I will post my new image too, tried to use glow drawing technique on objects, not only text, just try.
BP
thank you I good explaination I am practicing
checkers
greetings
Attachment 91538
my next proof
will continue practicing
next I will concentrate on the rope brush
greetings
Thank you Germaine for showing me the result, with more practice and drawing you will get it better.
Looking forwards to see your rope brush.

You might try AutoFX Dreamy. It doesn't run in Xara. AutoFX plugins don't. You would need a different host or standalone. I have Photoshop and my Xara editor. You would need to use a bitmap copy to get PS. It is free from AutoFX.
Rich
Frank that looks good =D>, I need to buckle down and do one.
Hi Rich I have dreamy suite bonus effects on my computer
I have to try again didn t work with it for some time
greetings
thanks wiz
it was a no brainer to be honest, any fool can take some text and apply a filter to it, any fool, like me in this case, can look at an image and with enough observation copy that image (although it's not an exact copy, you get the idea) and with sufficient patience, skill and experience, improve those techniques
what sets individuals apart from the great unwashed is their ability to conceive an idea and translate it into an original work of art
however good the copy, the kudos belongs to the original
i'm good at copying, that's all
