Another Art-Rageous attempt
Found this a while back, and couldn't see doing the woven ornaments hanging from her wrist in Xara, thought I'd give this a try.
The girl is 100% painting, I brought back just a teensy bit of the texture of the original .jpeg in the background and the skirt as her skirt is like made of burlap.
Re: Another Art-Rageous attempt
Very Nice Sally...
So... when you going to start framing these and selling em?:)
Re: Another Art-Rageous attempt
I just started with ArtRage, I suppose when I think I am professional enough.
I have Painter, but have never really gotten into it, I got this program as it looked like fun and it would be relaxing. I really don't think there is much I could do with Painter that I also couldn't do with this one except automated painting.
Besides, then I have to take time out of painting and make my website and I have done too many sites, find web design is not my forte. I can do it, just rather do something else.
I guess I am lazy.
Re: Another Art-Rageous attempt
I automated mine... Takes all of about 5 minutes to rebuilt/update the site. Just have to add the sepcifics for the latest pics to the database... and then press build...:)
the only problem with sites like this are changing the format... Then you have to rebuild all the code that creates the page.
Re: Another Art-Rageous attempt
Just lovely Sally, can't be plainer than that!
Re: Another Art-Rageous attempt
Really nice one Sally. :)
Re: Another Art-Rageous attempt
Nice to have you back Sally, beautiful work as usual.

Re: Another Art-Rageous attempt
Much appreciated Sally, as always nice nice nice.
Re: Another Art-Rageous attempt
and not just the execution, the image itself.
arresting, compelling. the girls face makes me want to step into the frame. there is a circular something behind her and below the basket which distracts me, but aside from that, this is just excellent work. The fabric folds are just stunning. I am glad that you mentioned it was Art Rage. If it was Painter, i would suspect a clone.

Re: Another Art-Rageous attempt
ArtRage has fewer tools, but you can clone with it. I drew this from a photograph and painted it once it was drawn.
I don't care for the cloning you get with CorelPainter Essentials.
And whereas you can do a lot the same thing with many programs, what is nice about ArtRage is it is less frustrating if you just like to paint. If you want to do post production work, add text, etc., you can do that in Painter, not ArtRage. I wish there were more kinds of brushes, but you can figure out how to achieve what you want nevertheless.
