Why oh why did they change the kerning tools to a flyout? For those of us who are sticklers for corrected kerning, we adjust it a lot and now it takes twice as long to do because we need to open a senseless flyout first. Why???
I already know about the keyboard shortcut but it's not fine enough (5 times larger than with a mouse click).
Is there any way to put this back to the old way?
No, no way to change that flyout presently.

Agreed - the new flyout is pretty aggravating!
Add your voice to the Dear Xara.. thread regarding this change. They may patch it out if enough folks ask.

I can see the sense of putting this in a flyout menu as things are getting very congested on the Infobar.
But maybe a push pin option like they have with the galleries would be good. Or the ability to create a floating menu.

Yep. The flyout is such an annoyance that I'm going back to XDP7 to do text work.

It does require editing the registry though, see here http://support.xara.com/index.php?_m...articleid=2989 hopefully this will make it into the options or perhaps Bill will include it in the next XaReg?
I will include it in the next update to XaReg. I'm still sorting things to make sure I have all the new features. Someday I may catch up to the Xara Teams great work. :D
Not that I notice. There needs to be a push pin option to keep the flyout open. Or better still, the text Infobar needs to be redesigned so all text options are available when the Text Tool is being selected.Quote:

Agreed that a redesign of the Text Tool infobar would be preferable. In the meantime, the registry fix is much appreciated. :thx
