Although I have a fully paid up 365 'subscription' I'm unable to access a lot of the Online Content Catalogue. It shows a "Buy" button when I try and import something. What do I need to do to get this working?

That's not right. Have you registered your product? And have you tried turning off the program then right clicking on the program icon and Run as Administrator?
Acorn had a work-around to this but I would file a support ticket at http://support.xara.com
Gary, Yes I believe it is registered as I upgraded when it was released and my details are shown as the Licensee in the About box. I've tried "Run as Administrator" but it makes no difference.

My program is registered and activated, and I still cannot download the online content to the program. I have tried many times to no avail. I have sent in a support ticket 5 days ago and have not received any response. I cannot even begin to use the program without the content. All the templates that I may want to use say 'buy' . I have already 'bought' the program. Why can I not download the content?
Have you downloaded the content installer - under the help menu?
Yes I have done that. It looks like it may have downloaded the 'free sample intro' items, but that is all. I try every day with no result. I really need the content to be able to get to work. Is there a separate download for this, or a CD? I read that the content should download after registering and activating, but that is not happening. And I am getting no reply from Xara on the ticket that I opened. Thanks.
If I was having this problem I would uninstall, then reboot, then re-install by right clicking the setup file and running as administrator. Once installed run the program the same way.
Some of the registry entries don't seem to get written unless run as administrator is used.

Sorry about the delay in commenting. First thing to try is similar to what has already been suggested but with important differences: First off run Xara and check that in the Help Menu, the option "Register" is greyed out. If it is, go to Help > Deactivate, Close the program and then right-click the program shortcut > Run as Administrator then activate again. Hopefully these steps will fix the issue, if not, please send in a support ticket.
- With those of you who have sent in support tickets, can you let me know your support ticket numbers and if these steps fixed the issue, so I can chase the tickets/ resolve them for you.

I tried what you suggested, but the problem is still the same. In the Local Gallery, all of the options for templates, widgets and web packs remain grayed out; unable to download the content.
I have previously filed a support ticket, but so far, they have only suggested what you already said to try. My present ticket number is #BVX-363-32530.
This problem has plagued me from day one of last week when I made the purchase, and then registered and activated. Without being able to download the content renders the program pretty much useless.
Do you have any other ideas? If I had the CD version, would I be able to get the content from the disk?
Everything is at a complete standstill until I can get the content downloaded.

Christine, I did ALL of what you suggested. Nothing has changed- the Local Design Gallery folders are still all grayed out except for the free sample items. I am just about at wit's end. Thanks, Tim
One last suggestion - is the name that shows in the flash screen and about box EXACTLY the same as the one used when purchasing?

I had thought I purchased Web Designer 365, but just assumed that WD 12 was the same thing. That was the download link that they sent me with my confirmation and activation code.

Xara contacted me - they cannot fix the issue at this point, and are sending me the complete CD package so that I may manually access the templates, etc.

We've managed to reproduce the issue now. The program seems to get into a state where it is not sure if it is a trial or not. Where it should be using the serial number, it appears empty as for a trial. Also when I reinstalling the program does not seem to prompt for the serial.
We are still looking into the exact cause, hopefully we will have a solution soon.

I am glad to hear that the issue was reproduced by the tech team. I was starting to think I had a problem no one else had and would not be taken totally serious.
I really hope the issue can be fixed and that there will be a patch or workaround.
Hi, A fix for this problem should now be available through support. This appears to be an installer issue, which can be fixed by removing certain installation files. For that reason, it is safest to go via support where the exact files requiring removal can be explained, as this may depend on operating system etc.
EDIT: I believe you already have a ticket tvrslr, this should be addressed soon!
I purchased designer pro at 17april2017. But I can not download busines online templates. Xara support cant help, they are stalling me things like, firewall, antivirus, connnection problem. etc. My Business is stopped. how can I download newsletter under Print section
Edit: Fixed. i don't know how. i was again download content downloader and panorama. install again and fixed.

Absolutely annoying, and dissapointing with Xara Support.
This %&$# thing doesn´t work, I have exactly the same problem and the tickets are only wasted time.
As customer, since I paid my MONEY I have right to install, use and work with your program, there´s not matter if you have technical issues with your dev team and the software doesn´t work properly in Windows, don´t say the problem is my PC, firewall, antivirus and another things... Do not try to explain the inexplicable and evade your own responsibility with your clients and learn from other companies whose programs are installed without any kind of problem.
I´m still waiting your support, a real and valuable support or my money back without loss.
