Image manager / viewer: Picasa 2 from Google (freeware).

Re: Best Freebie Apps List...
Real late but Apophysis is still going strong and deeper I might add. I used Apop but kind of stink at fractals; it is definitively an abstractionism form of design without question.
Heard that Wings does in fact rock!
Blender is cool but the interface needs an overhaul, definitely not for new bees. I myself gave up on Blender but at the time the B org. didn't have all the tutorial videos that they do now.
Google's Picasa 2 rules as an image manager/cataloger/publisher, etc. etc. features out the butt!
Art rage is cool, the designers of A.R. worked on the Dev team behind Corel Painter. They're cool to boot.
FastStone has an awesome line-up of screen capture, image viewer, browser, and image resizer freeware tools and they work as is said they do which is a blast.
Got TrueSpace 3.2 and must say that out of all the 3d apps that I have used
Cal' TrueSpace got the easiest U.I./learning curve that I have come into contact with in 3D modeling.
Re: Best Freebie Apps List...
Saw this app when I was "Stumble Upon" had a look and thought it was a very good image viewer. It supports RAW images direct from your camera so therefore you do not need PhotoShop CS only a camera which it supports. I have not downloaded as yet because I normally use an HP bit of softtware to do that or PS itself as my browser.

Re: Best Freebie Apps List...
Even better than the above. This one lets you save the models as wavefront obj. files for your 3d program:

So if you can stack lego bricks, you can make 3d models....
Re: Best Freebie Apps List...
http://www.amabilis.com/ Amabilis 3D software. Very good actually. Wonderous it's freeware.
