hi Retro,
My eldest son would love your artwork. I think you could do much better if your challenged yourself a little more.
I love the hairdo!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Nice work. How about a body??
Challenge!!
Hey guys! Thanks for commenting.
John: What do you mean? Could you elaborate a little more? Thx http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
Richard: I thought you'd like the hairdo http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Regarding the body... well, that will take much, much longer. I'll try it though, thanks for the challenge. By the way, did you see my shots at Steve's "Real Time Line Creation" forum?
Thanks again guys! Have a great weekend.
Hi Retro,
IMHO... Here are the easiest to hardest pieces of artwork...
Drawing stick figures... Easy, even I can do that 2 out of 3 times...
simple cartoon characters, is a little more of a challenge. 1 step beyond paint by numbers.
Drawing a cartoon character with emotion and passion... (Spawn for instance) is much more of a challenge.
Drawing an impressionist piece of something is much more of a challenge. (it is more of a challenge because you reveal your heart. Because of this, many artists can not do impressionist works, it takes too much of their soul to do.) Risto is a master of this...
Drawing a surrealist piece (You have to try and make it look real, but if it doesn't then you can say it was supposed to look that way. Almost as hard as impressionist for depth of feeling)
Drawing a realistic piece is much harder because it should look like the model. Others can look at your piece and the model and say this does not capture the essence of the model, or the nose is too big, etc. (Many talented folks can reach this far, but the emotion and feelings can be brushed over)
Drawing a realistic piece without a model, is the hardest. Each piece has the heart and soul of the artist in the piece. Richard has been working on one for a long time. Vladimyr cranks them out like they were cartoons, that is why he is a master.
Where am I? I am trying to achieve a realistic piece easily and quickly. I am afraid to bare that much of my heart and soul into a picture to make it true art. I came close with the picture of my wife.
Where are you? Stick figures or a master? Where would you like to be?
Thanks you for your time, I will get down off my soap baox and slink back into the corner and hide a while...
Oh yea, John's gonna go hide awhile. Untill the next opportunity comes along to have more fun, which is mostly all the time here even if Risto or Gary are yelling at him for one thing or another!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Teehee!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
