Is it possible to create something like this using the Xara software?

Sorry, life's not like that. Specifically, which aspect? Sticky hamburger menu - yes. Scrolling pages - yes. Background animations - no, needs JavaScript & CSS.

Thanks acorn it was the background animation part that I thought would be the hurdle. thank you for coming back to me :)
The site would be better without the background animation.
The logo reminded me of Serif Affinity. The screen jumps on me in chrome.
TG etiquette expects you to raise your own Thread and not hijack another's.
The Xara Desktop applications have Web Properties for Website, Page and Placeholder.
A Placeholder is available for any shape or line. Each of these has a HTML Code Head or Code Body.
HTML code can be put into these. If JS/CSS, you must include <SCRIPT> or <STYLE> Tags.
Placeholder Body code is inserted where the shape or line would appear in the DOM.
The others are sent to the bottom of the <HEAD> or <BODY>

@ntk. Perhaps your working on the site this morning. The loading of your site was extremely slow. In fact it didn’t load for me on a standard iPad. Sounds like you can do most of requested.

The slide show oir images like those?.
The images yes, the slide show probably but not sure. Acorn or one of the others would know fir sure,Attachment 126617
This image is rough but hope it will do
What's the fascination with the image? Isn't this thread about the background floaty bits?
No fascination whatsoever but my moniker was raised and I'm up for a challenge, otherwise I wouldn't beat myself up over how Xara handles its trade.
The images in the carousel have the motif that cut over and under. Some might not realise it is all smoke and mirrors and therefore think a Xara Desktop application (XDA) couldn't cope.
In the end, it was just a few words.
Few may not understand the XDAs can also add graduated colours to a "line".
Occasionally, a few nuggets inspire.

No, but we are a community, looking to improve.

Here's an example of a Xara creation.

Yes Paul, I've had issues too. My server seems very patchy. I've contacted TSOHost and hopefully it will improve.
Here's the way I'd go about it. NO AUDIO:
Here's Part 2, again no audio.

Egg,
No-one's saying that can't be done ... it was the background animation that was the problem.
You can loop a short video clip for background animation, there's been a few posts about it before. It's not too difficult in Xara from what I remember though I'd need a refresher myself. You can see the background video that they use in source code "bg.mp4"
When you look at the code detail https://greymattersuk.com/, the PNG images have been placed in a 'Slick' carousel; there are 8 x PNG images in a loop. The carousel sits in front of the background video, which in this case does not appear to do very much. The perception of depth in the PNG images has been created similar I guess to Egg's well explained approach.
It was fairly easy to mimic the effect using my third party slider, minus the usual controls; I did not bother with the video background. You could of course do the whole thing as an intro-video with your chosen video editor and have it run in the background.
Footnote:it would be interesting to gauge how long it takes for a visitor to get the headline message from this site?
Hi Keith, the OP never said he particularly wanted just the background animations, just whether it could be done in Xara ;)
Anyway, here's a link to one that has a background animation.

Initiostar & xtom. My approach was similar but I used a animated gif behind the cycle widget.
Excellent work Egg.
Thanks Acorn & Keith. One issue I can't overcome is there's a subtle difference in the shade of black between the pasteboard and that of the animated gif (which has a transparent background but may be a 256 colour restriction?).
Anyway just for fun here's a variation.

Nice examples Egg. Making the gif fill the entire background would probably be needed so that would ensure no difference between pasteboard. Then you would probably need a bigger gif for higher resolution. Not sure how file size of gif would compare with mp4 at the end but yeah plenty of possibilites for the OP to ponder on and try.
Surely just changing the Pasteboard colour to #101010 would work?
Acorn
Egg, I have no idea how you did that, but it's great, thank you!!! =D> :star =D>
A tutorial would be appreciated by me and others.
I already did Larry. See the following post & the one after.
If you require further help, please ask.

@ xtom:
I'll see if I can compare an export of the animated gif and an exported mp4 Tom. Of course this won't be definitive, it'll be dependant on the gifs complexity.Quote:

Great Tutorial Egg; easy to follow. Many thanks; added to my collection of How to's. Gary
I've tried this every way i can and still the colour difference. Everything is set to #101010.Quote:

I tried exporting my original animated xar file as an animated. gif, as a swf (but my xar file contains feathering which Flash can't handle in Xara) so I didn't bother. I could overcome this feathering effect but it would be far to time consuming. I then exported it as an avi file which worked but the file size was huge. I tried online avi to mp4 convertors but these never worked.
Here's the result for these file types:
Here's the animated xar file for anyone to test & perhaps create an mp4.
Cheers Gary :)
Thank you Egg I must have missed that.
