Re: Jello animation (142K)
Bill, that jello of yours is fantastic!!!!! Great job!!!
Re: Jello animation (142K)
Thanks Bob. I did that a little over 4 years ago. Niloufer did some digging to find that one after all this time :)
Re: Jello animation (142K)
That's a wobbly jelly cube OK. Looks just like the real thing!

IE sets animations to a minimum frame rate value. I'm not sure what the figure is but I think it may be 100ms. I use Firefox, which respects the speed the artist sets for an animated gif to run at. Since I'm a Firefox user, the jelly cube gif runs at the speed it was designed to in the browser.
Sometimes, IE works in the user's favour because some animators seem to rely on IE's properties to set the speed their animations runs at, rather than specifying a speed within the gif. When these are viewed in Firefox, they run at a rate of knots that makes them just a blur.

Re: Jello animation (142K)
Not animated, but here's one I did earlier. The basic shape was generated by Dmitry's "Spray" application.
Oh, and in the UK it's jelly, not Jell-O...
Re: Jello animation (142K)
Nice image, Simon.
You know us Yanks, we always get things incorrect. :D
It's like the use of the name Kleenex for tissue paper. Regardless of the actual product name we call it Kleenex. Jell-o is the largest supplier of Jelly product so we use their name for the whole industry
I just realized I'm dating myself by using Kleenex's name. Most of the younger generation call them Puffs :(
Re: Jello animation (142K)
Hello Mart,
Thanks for the information. I'm a bit of a diehard about browsers, the company intranet and our shipping system require Internet Explorer. Therefore I haven't even tried any of the newer browsers available. I can't afford to have my desktop having unknown changes that can affect my ability to troubleshoot any problems with the intranet or the shipping system. I depend on my laptop to work from home or when I'm on the road so I can't take chances with it either.
I know the newer browsers have some advantages, but when there are already millions of possible problems; adding an extra unknown factor on purpose isn't a wise choice.
Re: Jello animation (142K)
i think this new generation has a new definition for a puff.....
Re: Jello animation (142K)
So true Bob. Sometimes I wonder if the younger generation is even speaking the same corrupt version of English I grew up with :D
Re: Jello animation (142K)
I just wish I was one of the younger generation :)
Re: Jello animation (142K)
Huh? Speak up I don't hear so well! :D
Speaking of old! I'm amazed this thread is still here. I certainly enjoyed the jello ( colored, sweetened Gelatin) challenge that was inspired by your red wiggler Bill!
The Forums and the XaraXone continue to be such valuable resources for me.
