Thought it might be a nice idea to make a thread that shows off sites made in Xara Web Designer, just to see what an excellent program it is!
Here's one I'm doing for a friend: http://www.madladdesigns.co.uk/cp/index.html

Yes, a good idea. It will provide some good evidence for the ney-sayers of WD's website making ability. Here's my site.
Hi,
I posted a site I constructed..but got no replies.
It is a prototype for a "Guild Wars" guild forum..
the Prototype
I am not finished yet waiting for the site manager to reply with comments.

Hi,
My prototype page isn't showing cause some files were messed-up during "upload" and now I can't log in to fix em Sorry 'bout that.
Jim
Here's one for My Neighborhood Association. Still waiting additional data and approval from the board members. Has blog and form from another tool making use of the XWD placeholder.
Conrado
Created this site as a test last night. It's been on my to do list for the last 12 months and thanks to XWD I managed to get it to this level in 6 or so hours.

John, Great site - well done.
Great art too.
And Welcome to another Aussie to TG ;)
This was my first test site before I did the Workbook (the Workbook was a lot more work :)) www.PlacitasArtists.com/g_priester Placitas Artists is a website I set up several years ago to provide free web galleries to my community. We have just under 80 galleries which I maintain. I decided to redo my gallery in Web Designer and have not set it up as a template for adding new artists.
Redid my blog (again)...http://blog.jasonreid.com
Though I cheated, and did the 3D stuff in Xtreme, and I modified the exported HTML a little bit. :)
Some great sites here!
Thanks everyone for sharing. :)
Tis a small site but mine own:

I knocked this up Sunday afternoon after a pleasant lunch of venison, hot foie gras on ginger bread and an apple stuffed with mange-tout and beans- yes I live in France –the bottle of La Croix de Carbonnieux , Graves, 2004 played a small part !
How did you do the popup animation? Is that a separate script? I saw it on one of the other examples here, too.
My first attempts at a XWD site are these.

This is a site made by my son for the water polo team he belongs to http://www.hgsobsc.com/index.htm He has no experience of web site design, sort of started it in Xtreme, left it for a while moved it to WD and completed it in an evening. Now waiting photos and video etc to pad it out a bit.

Had look at your site and see one 'feature' I was going to ask about. How or where do you set the colour of the area around the actual webpage. I am currently working on a site www.vernonfoothills.ca/draft/index.htm and I would like to remove the white area around the pages. Can you explain how you did it on your page? Thanks in advance
Ctrl+Drag a colour from the colour-line to the page.Quote:

If you search for page background colour in the help file:-
Page Background Color
If you drag a color from the Color Line over the page, and hold the Ctrl key when you drop it, it will set the page background to that color. In the Web Browser this background color is shown over the the whole area of the window background.

Some nice sites people.
This site is still very much under development, but will be unleashed in a couple of weeks when I'm happy with it.

I posted my site in an earlier thread, but as I have made some changes I thought I'd post it here. www.goodmorningsunshineonline.com
I'm glad I started this thread, there are some great sites. :)
@Visimp ... You can also use the CTRL-Drag for a bitmap to make a background picture too ....
Very simple site for the OEL Kingston ... Still waiting for some content from them, but it's all done in XWD. Actually embarrassed to show it as all the others are so good, but what the heck ...
I'm working on making an html help file for the XaReg application using Web Designer for the pages.
Let me know what you think of the test pages.
http://btaylor.50megs.com/XaReg/XaReg-Help.htm
The version shown in the link will be available soon from the Xara Xone Shareware page however the help file will not be ready for that update.
I like the pop up bubbles that explain each feature on the screenshots.
Thanks Frances.
Here's my personal site I'm beavering away at: MadLad Designs.
Here is my first shot.

I'm still playing and not creating real sites yet. For this one I feature one of my hand-drawn pen & ink sketches. It has me thinking I should do a gallery of my sketches.
Regards, Ross
Ross the sketch looks great. It has been a very long time since we've seen any of your sketches.
Thanks - It's been a long time since I made any! :D
Most of my image-making these days is with Google SketchUp 3d software. Here's an example on a page just created in a couple of minutes with Xara-WD.
Regards, Ross
I would certainly appreciate seeing more of your work. A web-based gallery would be a great way to effectively present it. Documentation on methods and techniques would be a very interesting touch.Quote:

Thanks. I've updated it to view my YouTube videos on the site, now at http://www.madladdesigns.co.uk
A suggestion: on the YT vids page, image 31.png (the brown background for the YT video placeholder) is 400 kb...forcing it to export as a JPEG would reduce the filesize (and time to download) by 10 times to around 40 kb. Might be worth changing that. (...And there were a number of people in another thread claiming PNG was better suited for images like this...hmm.)
