Hey folks,
This classic image is going to be printed clear glossy gel over another completely different graphic. Glass effect if you will, for textile printing.

One of my passions, shooting pool...
This is a logo for a rival team. The bird is the site mascot & the Raiders logo is what they wanted. The 8 ball will be OTH (over the heart) & the Raiders will be Full back.
Showing variations, limited color. White's can print 1 color, black & dark shirts require a choked underbase & a overprint or hi-light white.
Ya know, after looking at this, I think I'm gonna rotate the 8-ball hi-light to the center & add a touch of Rooney's text reflection.
wW
Another team logo. Standard lobster claw fire. May print multi color. Design not final yet. Still some tweakin on this one. wW
Great logos !
Has anyone tried Dmitry's new Raster.exe for creating vector "halftones" from bitmaps? This is my first effort using it:
"Moonrise"
wW,
Great logos ... the Raider bird is hillarious ... I think the reflection on the 8-ball will be a nice touch ... shouldn't the "ring of fire" actually BE a "ring" of fire?
Simon,
Great use of Dmitry's raster.exe program. Well done.
Dmitry,
Your Fuji calendar graphics are absolutely fabulous http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/cool.gif
Just goofing around with blends and stuff!
Haven't done too much at home. Will have to post something from work. The stuff posted this month looks great! Fantastic job guys!
This is going to be printed on a black shirt. Which means I use 2 whites to get as much subtlety as I can.
I don't consider myself a car drawing expert by any means especially with time constrants. But I think the client will like this. The more realistic the dwg, to more difficult the separation for print. This ones gonna be a stinger to sep... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/mad.gif
OaklaEd, The ring is the outline of the 8-ball. Using postive negative space. Fire outside it. I thought about going the way you were thinking, in the end went with economy of effort. Am I getting defensive yet? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

An Xara X1 extraction. Rich
The object used for extraction. Rich
Light hearted caricature of a church. Almost finished. This was worked as time permited. Couple minutes here or there. On hold for now.
Rich, Nice Rose!
Simon, What else can you tell me about that filter. Does it work from within Xara? Where can I DL & how much is it? Thanks
wW<><
If you go to the XaraXone and look for SPXE under Shareware, there's a link to Dmitry's website. Raster.exe is a standalone EXE that operates using BMP or WMF files or the bitmap content of the Windows clipboard. It has a few parameters and options, including square or round dots, dot size and screeen angle. Once you've got it looking good, copy to the clipboard and paste into XaraX. At the moment it (like all of Dmitry's apps) is free of charge.
Rian,
You're allowed some "goof" time after that Apache project ... just don't go and blend YOURSELF into the drawing http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
wW,
Ok ... I get the "ring" thing ... cool Corvette!
Rich,
Nice tea-rose-extraction thingy ... but WHERE'S the BUG?! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Thanks for sharing Gentlemen ... but has anyone noticed the absence of she-artists in this Stop and POST? Come on ladies ... let's see it!
Playing around with blends as a substitute for linear fills.
Im not the only one messing around with blends hehe!
This is an image I thought I'd complete after trying out a speckled Shadow effect across in the xaraX forum.

One side of a Pizza flyer/menu currently being produced for a local Take Away.
Work doesn’t get more exciting than this.

Another little job, (driving school business card), held over from a few months ago and now just modified a little and sent off to the printers as a PDF, so I was wrong it does get more exciting. PDF export PDFX-1 direct from Xara would be on my wish list, if I had one, rather than the current add on I use.

OK Ed,
You can stop wondering. Rich
Try to keep work and pleasure using Xara separate but thought this worked for a local builder!
Albacore,
Love the "house" shape. The rest of the design lets it down in my opinion.
<UL TYPE=SQUARE><LI>Why is the "h" larger than the other text?<LI>The highlight on the tree looks like a mistake<LI>Why is there a black line between the trunk and crown of the tree?<LI>Come to think of it, why is there a tree at all?<LI>Just my own preference, but I prefer logos without 3D or shadow effects.[/list]
To sum up; great idea, needs some polishing.
Just messing around, been having some mighty chapped lips lately!
Hello everyone,
At this moment I am busy with developping my first animation/internet site in Xara. I'm working on the top cap of a carspray and would like to create a moving dispersion...for a customer.
Can someone tell me how many pictures I should consider for creating this kind of movement?
In movies, I believe it's around 24 pictures/movements per second, but I think it can be done with less on an internet site.
Thanks a lot for your advice!
Jozef
Hello Jozef,
stateside TV is 30 FPS, the default for flash is 12 FPS. I have used as low as 10 myself in flash and have it look ok. Anybody else try anything lower than 10? Egg?
speaking of flash, I want to make a flash website, but dont have a clue how, anyone can point me in the right direction to find some tutorials?

Rich,
Ahhh ... bugs.
Albacore,
I have to agree with Simon (My God ... did I actually SAY that http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) ... something about your logo isn't working for me. Maybe you could tweak some of the elements. Cool house!
Rian,
Nice job on the chapstick container ... are they usually black? (Upon further review I see they come in many colors ... including the original black).
Jozef,
Nice illustration ... I'm sure the animation will look great.

I see you finally found a use for all your bugs there my friend.
I have seen that very same image in nature...
right after a bug hits my windshield... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

This type of animation is best created in Flash. You can view an example here.
The files only 14 Kb's but at the moment it's too cpu hungry.

Just doing my bit for the missing female xarians! This is to be used as a package background.

Carol:
Beautiful and simple work. Very elegant. My wife likes it too. Is it for a Christmas product?
Thank you Simon,
Yes you are right, it is for a Christmas embroidery kit. Thank your wife too for me please. Your comment means a lot as I love your work.

Durn...
I thought someone smacked me upside the head again. Then I realized it was just Carols packaging.
Looks good there Carol... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
here's some characters i'm working on for a flash game unit at uni.
it's group work and my team is quite a bit of a slouch in the coding department http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
Hi Carol,
Nice package (I could get slapped over here for saying that to the wrong person) ... as Simon says ... very elegant.
Max,
Welcome to TalkGraphics. I'm betting on the GREEN guy http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif What is "uni" ... and where are you from?
Max_D,
The "chav" is very funny (are the ones who wear fake Burberry called "chav-nots"?). I gather you're UK-based - whereabouts are you?
