Smart Photo Grid Pop-Up Issue

I added a large number of photos to a Smart Photo Grid #2. Xara 365. When I click on the grid, no matter what I do, right-click grid, web-properties, image. It will not keep my settings, this most important of which is the pop-up checkbox. I have tried from drop down menu, every possible way to get web properties, image. Every method does not work, even from layer page.
I have 8 pages with photo grids, only one works properly. So to summarize when I set grid to pop-up, and I preview or publish the page, when I mouse over the photos the magnification icon does not appear over the photos.

The first thing that comes to mind is did you add the photo grid to the right layer (Should be on MouseOff layer).

I'll take a look and see if I can see what is going on with this.

OK. I just tried this out. I selected a photo (all are part of a group) then went to Website Properties > Image, checked [X] Pop-up Photo and set a width and this might be the step you missed, I pressed Apply. Any time Apply appears on a menu, the operation will only take effect if you press Apply.

I replaced all the photos and everything works as it should.

Photo Grid, Is definitely under Mouse Off. In fact if I right-click photo grid in layer view, web properties, image, Click Pop-up checkbox, set width and 100% on jpg, then click apply ok. Then preview no luck, if I go back and double check the settings they are reset.

Hmm? That is most excessively weird.

Is the photo grid on a web page? Go to Page Options > General. Does the Document Type say web page?

Can you save one of the pages and upload it here? Right click on a page and select Copy Page then create a new website and Paste Page. Then File > Save as... Name the page and upload the .xar or .web file here and we will see if we can figure out just what in the world is going on.

I didn't realise they could either! Although it only works when you let Xara choose which image type!: :(

Thanks for spotting that twist.

I've also just noticed that the UI is wacky. If you click the Pop-up photo and Apply, the effect is applied (for Xara-chosen images) but the tick vanishes.
If you access each individual photo, the tick is back.
Also, you can change the Pop-up width individually this way.

If you apply to the photo grid, it applies to all.

I've worked for hours on an update for my site only to find out that pop-up images doesn't work. (It worked on my initial test)
If I apply it on the grid or on each photo it's a no go.

Any help would be appreciated.

Marc, this is what I do, working through Photo Grid 1.

In the Page & Layer gallery, select and expand the Photo grid.
Select the fits image and then Shift+Select the last image so all are highlighted (blue background).

Open Web Properties > Image > Pop-up photo: Tick. Click the Apply button.
