This is the result of many transparent layers. Happy 2020!
The sharpness and depth is stunning.
Happy New Year (soon).

:wow One of the best I've seen. Took me ages to see the message!
Happy New Year.
Same here, seen the symbol fairly quick but took a while to see the text.
Very good and the sharpness and color was excellent.

Took me a long time to see as well but then, gorgeous. It's like a whole universe. A peaceful 2020 to all!
Gary I'm sure it is beautiful, wish I could see it, have tried for years and have read things you have wrote about how to see them but I guess I am just one of those people who will never see. Anyhow thanks for sharing and Happy New Year!!!!!!
Any as per usual ... I can only see it inverted. I can force my eyes to focus in front of the object, but cannot force them to focus past it, no matter how hard I try. I can see the stereo but can't make out the symbol or the message!
You and me both Joe.
I stare, the picture begins to swim, my eye's go 'what-the-hell-was-that?' and flick sideways. Picture remains flat.
I like to run with the scientifically proven theory that I'm too smart and good looking to be drawn into a nether world inhabited by Faeries and Goblins.
My method is to get right up to the screen, let your eyes blur and then hold that blurry vision and slowly pull back from the screen. Do NOT focus on the image.
If you focus on the image you will never see the 3D effect.
It may take several tries but this does work for most people.
Sorry Gary, tried your method still can't see it,just a blur. I think I am just too literal or something!
Took me years before I could view them but finally using the method described by Gary I eventually got there. The trick is to stay unfocused, it's so easy to think you're seeing something and refocus. Don't refocus, just keep slowly moving your head away from the image.
And as the stereo say's 'Peace' to you all.
No, no, no, Chris. You've got to move your head back but keep your eyes in their original position.
You always give the best tutorials, Egg. =D>
:nerd:
Tried Eggs approach no matter how hard I tried when I moved my head back my eyes came with it I just couldn't get the eyes to stay behind.
The stereogram has a repeat pattern. If you put your index finger in front of the image and focus on the image you will be aware of two index fingers. Move your hand until the two indexes cover the same part of the repeat.
Then refocus on your index finger, the stereogram is then set up. Remove your hand.
I doubt if this is the proper way.

If it works, it is the right way. :-) Just like Xara, there is always more than one way to accomplish something.Quote:

I understood the instructions. I complied with the instructions. My eyes completely overrides the direct command of my brain and snaps the focus back on the picture.
Tried several times. Ended up trimming my finger nails as all I achieved was to notice the were getting long.
I'll try again tomorrow.
I can see the depth and detail of the shapes, (fantastic detail) but can't see text - what's it say?
I don't know why but tried everything several times still see nothing. My sister sees it so it must be there, but I still see nothing!
@Gary, I thought this might keep people amused while they try to focus.

Hint: Just move your mouse over the image. Sadly, only for the Desktop!
Thanks a lot Acorn! Crossing eyes to find a stereogram is hard enough but with water waves above it? I'm now permanently cross-eyed.
Good fun =D>
Except, these are designed for parallel viewing. If you view the image cross eyes everything will be in reverse.
Nice added effect, Acorn.
Didn't really notice a difference.
I have a question for Gary though: How does it feel that this FX has been added?
Boy - I am not sure. This image had four or five layers with a lot of transparency. The word Peace is very subtle and really does require some effort to read. Especially at this size.
No need. Gary does not jape easily.Quote:
This was supposed to be a jape at Gary and a demo of an effect that is quite interesting in its own right.
More than happy to remove the site.
