Judging from what I see it appears that B is slightly shorter, but, I could be mistaken. Don't know why the direction should make any difference.
I was looking at the space between the arrowhead and the beginning of the dashed line, but if that is not the case then neither.

It is A because when you travel around the letter, the letter A has a cross piece that cuts down the travel time. With B you have to go around the whole letter.
I really do not know but I was interested in the font that you used Gary. The question mark caught my eye, which font did you use?
