There haven't been any challenges for almost a month, so I thought I'd create a new one.
My mind is a blank. I know I will hate myself when the answer is given
I really like your resultant logo. It suits the Google streets idea very well. I don't have any idea about what the original was unless it had to do with airplanes.
Edit: Oh wait, would that be a Honda logo?
Re your edit: right industry Nancy but the wrong country.
Attached is the right colour.

Hyundai?
Looks like Hyundai to me as well !
Well, they are both oval shapes.

Bob.
Lexus?
Lexus is the closest yet, but you'd need 2 Lexus logos to make the one I made. Forget Japan and travel West, beyond China and think again.

Tata motors
Who also own Jaguar and Landrover btw ;)
Well done, Steve!
If some of you haven't heard of Tata Motors before they are based in India.
Steve, if you want to continue the challenge, you are first in line, but anyone can to submit their own.

As no one else has come up with a new mutilated logo I thought I'd offer not one but two. I 'm not sure how well known the first logo is outside of Canada, so I did a second one that everyone here should know. Let the guessing begin!
hi frances
my guess would be canadian tire
and open office for the second
and yes, they are still allowed to call themself Canadian Tire in the province, believe it or not..............frank.......a.k.a........francis
Ah sorry Bob, missed the post - yep I'll have a shot soon.
Good one Frances, though not heard of Canadian Tire or can recognize the logo..
Canadian Tire and Open Office it is.
Steve: Canadian Tire is a large hardware chain here in Canada, there is not much that they don't sell.
...Tenderly mutilated :)
Wish I was good at this but I can't figure them out. Sledger, how did you get that reflection on the logo? It doesn't look like a plasma fill, what did you use?
Hi Nancy,
It's the CHROME plugin included with Xtreme 4 (Eyecandy 4000 demo)
Ok, thank you. I never looked at the demo one. I use the old eye candy3 chrome but it doesn't seem to look as good as that. I'll give it a try.
Here's a quickie to attempt. Also a clue:
It's probable that a lot of you are using this even as I speak. (although you may be unaware of it) A lot of you will be using a different brand. (although you too may be unaware of it)

Bob.
LOL - I guess no-one wants to have a shot at mine then??
Oh and Bob, your latest is the AMD logo (Computer CPU manufacturer)
As I said Steve, mine was a quickie...and I was proved right. Yep, AMD.
Right, time to concentrate on yours...
Saludos,
Bob.
Any chance of a clue, Steve?
Saludos,
Bob.
Yes sure Bob.. The (non mutilated) logo sits to my right as I type :)
Come to think of it, my son also has one to his right when he types as well.
EDIT- the windows logo on the keyboard?
I'll attempt this from the letters. Assuming they are all there, I can make an anagram spell "All In 1" (substituting the I for a 1). Are we looking for a printer/scanner/fax?
Saludos,
Bob.
This is a good Logo article with some funny illustrations
http://hanibal-latestnews.blogspot.c...gos-mania.html
@Bob: Yes all letters are there, no substitutions either. Not a peripheral.
@Burpee: Not related to Windows OS or Keyboards.
@Larry: Not a U turn...
OK this may be a case for needing another clue.
Just in case it seems too hard? Do you think that is the case?
Nobody outside Liechtenstein or Australia has ever heard of Lian Li
LIAN-LI it is
They are exported and sold all over the world, very popular with gamers, overclockers and computer enthusiasts.
Google lian li tower
Well done Frank, fancy having a go?
I must say that I've never heard of Lian-Li, but their computer tower cases look mighty impressive.
In terms of expansion, with slots for 6 HDDs and 4 fans. They seem to have all bases covered.

OK, my artwork is probably a lot better than my devious thought processes, but here goes.
This is a very well known brand. I've mutilated neither the font nor the logo. They do serve delicious curries, but they're hot, hot, hot and impossible to keep down.
Over to you :)
So, let me get this straight. The font and logo remain unmutilated and this is a mutilated logo challenge. Am I right so far? It's a famous brand that serves delicious curries that are hot and impossible to keep down...
It can't be Air India although their food is delicious and they only serve them when the aircraft is actually flying but their logo doesn't look even remotely like that no matter how much or little non mutilation has been done. Upside down the logo resembles Disney (Mickey Mouse), but I don't see a curry connection. So I'm stumped at the moment.

Check Thai airlines Bob ;)
Thanks, Steve. Almost there! How aggrannoying. :D Well done, Frank...easy when you know how.
Saludos,
Bob.
Hehe, it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be after all :)
They don't come any easier than this.
