Hi, everybody,
I'm new on this forum, and this is my very first post...
Also, I am relatively inexperienced in the world of 2D graphics (3D is what I do best).
I'm posting two of my very best. enjoy!

Welcome Guss
I don't know much about bikes but it looks to be a good drawing of one to me and the candle flame, which if anything is more difficult to get right looks very convincing.
Derek
Welcome to TalkGraphics Gus.
The candle flame is very well observed and nicely rendered. There are some nice moves on the motorcycle too.
Welcome Guss, very nice work. A flame is very difficult to achieve and you have done it very well.
Thanks for all the comments people!
please feel free to point out any mistakes!
Guss
I used Corel Draw X4,
Yes, yes, I know by now that I wasn't supposed to post it here, but since I'm new, please forgive.
It wont happen again, I swear!
Guss
guss, the flame is very well achieved.
Thanks!
I love the candle flame!! Gary is right, Nice Observation and Nicely Done!!
Guss those are nicely done. Thanks for posting.
Welcome to TG, Gus. Very convincing flame and bike.
Thanks a lot for all the comments... And the kind welcome!
As I said, I didn't do this in any Xara product, In fact I'm not familiar with Xara at all,
would it be possible to do something like this in a Xara application??
EDIT: The reason I ask is, If it were not possible to do this in Xara, then the guys will say that I'm cheating...
Guss
Yes, your images are possible in Xara. You would be amazed at the power Xara has. There is little Xara cannot do. I'm still amazed at some of the images Xara users are able to get from Xara.
The attached image is from a tutorial from a while ago, but I do think it fits and can help answer your question. The flame is not up to the same caliber as your is, but trust me, it's possible.
The attached image was created in about 5 minutes or less using Xara Designer Pro.
Guss, if you don't mind me asking - What program did you use to create these images? Was it Corel? I ask because I noticed some of your other works (created using Corel DrawX4) that were posted on in the Graphics Gallery. Not many people know this, but XARA was a product of Corel - I know because I had one of the first copies (CorelXara 1.0b - back in the mid-90's). If you have been using Corel Drawx4 you may find XARA to have more features and gives you more control of your creativity And on top of that, it run faster than Corel Drawx4 (I've seen videos on youtube). I'm just
Personally, Xara is THY BEST vector based art program I have ever come across!
If you vist the XARA website, you can download the 30-day trail version of the program for free. These 30 days trails are fully functional during the 30-day trail. The latest version is Xara Designer Pro 6. See if you like it.
I'm just trying to help. :D
Corel once had marketing for Xara's program but did not create the application. After the marketing agreement ended Xara began marketing their own products.
I used CorelDraw X4,
sorry if i sounded a little ignorant, but I'm quite new in this particular field...
(if someone asked me how to design a typical magazine cover, I would not know how to even start...):o
@ Soquili (2 posts back)
5 minutes?!?!?!
Wowee! Cooooool!
Also Corel X4
I'm sure I will!
Just imagine what you could do with a real vector drawing application such as Xara Designer Pro. ;)
Well done on the flame Guss, I like the bike.
Thanks!
I started on this a while ago...
If you want the HD version or the CorelDraw file, just ask! ( rico.cilliers@gmail.com )
Guss (or Rico);)
That's a real nice Porsche Guss. Did you design the backgroud texture?
Nope, that's a CorelDraw background, I only did the car.
Guss
Hi there,
The graphics were really fabulous and I too have made a lots of designs(both 2D And 3D). I use Illustrator for designing. Recently I have made a flower picture using Illustrator CS3.Attachment 84120
Hope you like it.

That looks real good Jeffrey. My wife's favorite flower.
@ wizard509
I second.
I like the background you got there, Jeffery.
Welcome to TG Guss, great job on both. Thanks for posting.
fantastic, brilliant
Thanks!
Didn't know this thread was still alive... :)
Guss
Very nicely done in my opinion especially the flame. =D>=D>
That candle and motorcycle actually looks pretty great, and it doesn't really show your inexperience all that much. You obiously have a solid grasp on design and detailing, and whether working on 3D or 2D there shouldn't be any difference.
good work.
