Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
How about a shining light?
Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Bill.
A shining light. Can I be honest and say that I didn't think of that!
And I love the background you've done. =D>
Now that you've started that, it makes me wonder what others are going to come up with?

Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Here's another Light, this time animated.
Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
The first one is truly BRIGHT John!
And an animated on as well?!
Then an alternative DARK one from Gary.
There's some sort an attraction, if you look at it for long enough.
So, be careful guys and gals.
It not just the stereograms that Gary uses to hypnotise us, it could be any drawing! ;))
Looks very good Gary.
Now, it makes me think if I should change my tact and go for a different look.
I've been playing with the usual 'window' reflections etc...
So far, we've had 'light', 'bright' and 'dark'

Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Well, I just had to try Bill's background.
Very good indeed Bill. A very good lesson, for me anyway.
I just never remember to look at all the different Transparency types.
Re: Shiny Button - or not?!

Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Haven't managed to use your second idea yet Bill.
I thought I would see if I could use Gary's 'glow' though.
So, here's what I got up to.
Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Well done, Rik. Maybe one window highlight would suffice though?

Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
OK.
As ordered; trying just one window highlight.
Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Yeah, this is cleaner. Great job Rich.
Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Rik that one is so shiney your finger may slide off before the button is pushed. ;)
Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Really great job on the button.
It looks so pristine, like it has never even had a fingerprint on it.

Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Hey guys, am a new user of Xara web designer, please could someone just point me into the direction of how you made these buttons? I am overly impressed at the buttons that you came up with Rik. How did you do it?
Re: Shiny Button - or not?!
Welcome to Talkgraphics Frodo,
Rik and Soquili have provided their source files in the first and second posts of this thread (the *.xar files).
Just download both and check how they have built them.
