An idea by Gary Bouton - drawn in Xara.
It was quite a challenge, but, I have to say a big thanks to Gary for the creative idea in the first place.

Folks, all I did was a simple model. The person who did the real work is Rik.
Never in 1,000 years would I attempt to do his drawing in Xara...I just don't have the skill!
I modeled the thing. Compare the two renditions. My final render was much better, but that's not the point. Rik successfully and artistically reverse-engineered my sculpture there! From image, to wireframe!

My Best,
Gary
Really impressive Rik.
I get invalid attachment Gare... Awesome drawing Rik!
Without knowing better... I would have guessed a 3d render.
I agree Rik, really looks convincing.
1st rate job on that Rik.
Yep, looks pretty incredible. When I first saw this I was sure it was one of Gare's 3D renderings.
A first rate job Rik, really impressive.

Very imressive RIK. I sure don't have your our skill.
Beautifully done Rik! Definitely in the eloquent style of Mr. Bouton.
The great thing about this work, is that it gets you to look more closely at it and thinking about just how it was done and the significance of the bits and bobs.
i remember a while back some people said doing photo-realistic xart was pointless
let them do something like this and i might take them seriously
this is technique precision patience and believe it or not imagination
good job as always rik
