Recommend any project management software?
Hi
Anyone recommend any project management software? (for running a Web development project)
We dont need anything too sophisticated.
It needs to be:
- Intuitive/easy-to-use
- Free or nearly free
With thanks

P.S. I was thinking of using either msExcel or even doing it 'visually' with an illustration package (in our case using Xara Xtreme Professional...)
Re: Recommend any project management software?
I would recommend http://www.e-kalender.de, but it's in German, so that's probably a problem ;) I use it for all project and also "personal life" management and it rocks :)
Re: Recommend any project management software?
Dotproject.
It is *not* bad... And as it is MySQL and the tables are fairly clean you can add in extra tricks with some php.
Re: Recommend any project management software?
I like ToDoList ( http://www.abstractspoon.com/tdl_resources.html )
It may look complicated from the screenshot, but it really isn't. It has many features, but you can simply ignore any that do not apply
Re: Recommend any project management software?
Dude, when I see all these other project management web sites - I REALLY need to make an international / English version of e-kalender.de! :P
Re: Recommend any project management software?
For conceptualization (not schedules or responsibilities), Freemind. http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki....php/Main_Page
For hierarchical / site map: DiagramStudio (poor person's Vizio). http://www.diagramstudio.com/

Re: Recommend any project management software?
Should this post be here? If I was after info on web construction why not post it in "Site Design and Publishing".
To answer your question, I use Joomla as it was fairly easy to get my head around and that there is loads of support for someone like me.

Try Basecamp. It's easy and very simple to use. In fact, it's very user-friendly. You can easily learn how the features work so you don't have to waste too much time on learning the tool.
You may also try Redmine. It is a flexible project management web application which includes gantt charts for a better representation of projects. There are more alternatives to project management software, you can check more of the list here: http://www.timedoctor.com/blog/2011/...e-alternatives It lists more than 40 tools with features compared with each other. You can check here which ones has the features that would best meet your preferences.
Re: Recommend any project management software?
If you're looking for a web-based solution, zoho is a great tool. It has project management functionality with lots of features.
If you opt for a desktop project management software package then you must try Latitude. It's a great tool to manage your clients, projects and documents. It runs fast and has many functionality. It can create invoices of job costs and can export user timesheets to accounting software for payrolls.
Re: Recommend any project management software?
As a project manager, it's your responsibility to rise to the occasion of establishing all work processes and producing results. That's what every company expects of you. I am sure that the work of remote specialists raises a lot of questions. Now that the number of software is growing, my advice is to try work time to execute tasks better and control your team.
