I will try to return from the dead... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Actually, just a silly doodle to break the creative block I've been having lately. Used to be that lots of crazy pictures and ideas filled my head. I was convinced that they were all dried up until I came across this site:
http://www.holliconger.com/
Very nice site created by someone who stuck to her dreams...

Great stuff, grafixman. This fellow has an appropriate anxious expression as if saying, "Maybe I didn't think this through!"
-
With your animation skill, you could have him going red in the face, eyes bulging out and bubbles rising.
Very nice work, like it very much.

Haha, it seems like out magician have been resurrected from the deep...:D .
Very good, Raymond. This one's so long ago I can't even find the source files on my disk.
Funny it would surface just now. There's this magician vs magician movie coming up on the theaters....
But you forgot the punch line: :D
-
Re: And now for my next trick...
Well, you two, trying for twin animations? Only necessary at the Nicklelodian theatre.
Let's see, in the next saga, Raymond will have some stunning mermaid giving him mouth to mouth and Gman will have been dropped an auqa lung by Jacques Cousteau.
Brilliant, both of you.

Trust me to leave out a key element.
As you no longer have the source file here it is:

Brilliant, as in "my chrome dome outshines your balding pate anyday, man...:D "
Nah, maybe just two people with too much time on their hands. :p
Anyway, since the theme seems to be about underwater misadventures, here's one I had sitting in my WIP folder gathering dust.
The goggle wiper.

Re: And now for my next trick...
Hahahaha. At first I couldn't figure out what I was looking at, but then I saw the cute little octopus/squid thing. Neat idea and great drawing/anim!

Re: And now for my next trick...
That suggests all sorts of possibilities .. I may have a play with that one, tee hee!

Re: And now for my next trick...
Raymond, you're a wonder :D . That's the picture I had in mind when I set out to do this, but I guess I ran out of steam afterwards to do the water and fishes, so I took a shortcut and opted for a semi-wet octopus instead...:o .
Thumbs up.
Getting back to our magician/escape artist, plus Sally's comment on the aqualung, here's what happens when you put the two together. Perhaps they should've dropped a hook and line instead? (Had to reduce the dimension of the pic since the file size is beginning to climb.)
Now do the mermaids, Raymond....:D

Mermaid ... okay ...

Re: And now for my next trick...
Well Gman, your animation is a riot, humor comes in the unexpected. Anyway, out of his misery and probably knocked the chains off too, just can't keep a good man down.
Let me rephrase to avoid any sexism, you can't keep a good person down.

Re: And now for my next trick...
Happy Birthday again, Raymond.
An oversight on my part. It's a good mermaid. Looks like the Disney character, judging from the silhouette :D .
Graphics on demand is hard for me, too. But that's another challenge, I think.
But I was expecting something more radical from you. You have set high standards and now you're stuck on the top :D, haha! I have an idea, but I don't have time to make it right now. Maybe later?

Heheh! I'm rather enjoying this. I moved your air cylinder to give more room .. plenty of space now for whales, submarines, sunken wrecks and any other marine paraphanalia.
I have already put in there a melted iceberg ... I think that is quite radical.

Any more elements and the gif file size is going into orbit :D. The one below is already huge for it's dimensions, and I've already taken out the gradient fills, cut out a lot of frames and reduced the pixel size again, but it's still heavy... .
Being kissed is nice, but he's still sinking and tied up in chains. :D

Kissed by an octopus?????
That was my first reaction until I watched it a few times ..

Re: And now for my next trick...
The mermaid went lower and so did the magician at the same angle. It is likely he didn't die or at least died happy. Mustache changed colors, maybe he swallowed the octopus. And Raymond, no "Pharting Fish" when one is useful? We believe in happy endings around here, could use a cerificate of divorce from the chains that binds him at least that would be funny.

Octopus!
:D ...Well, it does look like one, doesn't it? I'll ask the lady herself...
My mermaid said you try soak your hair in seawater all day... ;)
But really, it was a quickie and the increasing file size was squeezing the details out of it...:o Sorry for the miscolored moustache, too. I am definitely going blind.
Lol, Sally. I hope for happy endings everytime, too. So how about this for a happy ending? ( I think it was influenced by Bruce's beach scene cartoon on one of the recent threads posted.)
-
Re: And now for my next trick...
Hahahaha. Gman, I love it! I think this is the first drawing I have seen you do that is not an animation or a 3D rendering. Great job! Let's see more!

Love the new picture!
What's he going to do next?
We didn't do so bad for a thread which was abandoned eighteen monnths ago, eh?

Re: And now for my next trick...
Congrats, on the happy ending. Questions: what does a man do with a woman who is half fish? Well, he's a magician so maybe he can change all that. Let's see, if a mermaid kisses you underwater you don't drown, and if a human male kisses her out of the water, she grows legs? Please remember this is a "G" rated forum. "G" as in "G-man"??? Perhaps she could at least grow a swimming suit too complete with Corvette Logo?

Obviously, she being half fish and half human, he'd feed one half and eat the other.
I'll have a play ...

Re: And now for my next trick...
 That's a grisly idea!
Growing legs sounds like a good one, though...
:D
-
Re: And now for my next trick...
The one thing that bothers me... in all stories you have a beatiful mermaid, but the fact that she has a fish tail instead of legs makes me think: Where all new mermaids come from then? :D

Tadpoles, silly :D
-
Re: And now for my next trick...
Tadpoles? Ahhh. I didn't know that. :D
-
Re: And now for my next trick...
Mermaids meet mermen, obviously they must know what they are doing. Fish generally lay eggs in the water, and the male fertilizes them. I am discussing biology, not suggesting what to draw. Some things I would rather not see. Not quite our idea of romantic love, no embracing involved.
'Nough said, seems the above idea is rather against the grain. If they can bridge the species gap... well, growing legs seems the only alternative that seems tolerable. Who knows, she might have been part of the act and has a zipper somewhere which Gman has not revealed.

Wow, what's the bait you've been using? :D .
The magician wasn't that lucky. He found out that when you kiss a mermaid on a full moon, her tail changes to legs, but...

I dunno what the answer is ... mebbe put a bag over her head, or maybe after few beers you'd not notice or not care?

Well, Gman, you have yourself quite a dilema, and I have an answer for you, you see, she was his assistant after all, but being a substantial woman, I had to send her in a zipped file. So here is your mermaid in a zipped file.

Re: And now for my next trick...
Intbel (Raymond) and I make a good team, I draw and he animates. Good collaboration. He animates better than I do, have to stay ahead of the nutty ideas somehow! And Gman, you are responsible, you came up with the idea!
We are just partners in the escapade.

Re: And now for my next trick...
Is it true he didn't know whether to kipper or kiss her? vy good drawings and anmation.

"Collaborators" ... has a more subversive ring, don't you think?
