Hi Soquili
Nice cartoon. I like it. Well you can delete my other thread if you want to. I didn't know that you were doing these now.
I'm going to put my pumpkin here again since I just made it this month. This will tie in with another drawing I am working on. It is actually a weapon used by a comic character. Who knows who it is ? :D
Is it the Green Goblin? Just guessing.
Spheres have been discussed in a couple of threads lately.
Glass spheres have been constantly popping up in many of my doodles for the past few months.
Here's the latest incarnation of Glass Spheres
Good cartoon, Bill.
Bruce,
That is one nice illy of a pumpkin. I haven't a clue who it belongs to, but I'm anxious to find out.:)
My current project is a redo of an old drawing.
ron
Just a tile.
Rich
A desktop...
WOW!
Gorgeous, John.
ron
Bruce the jack-o-lantern weapon looks great.
Ron a lot of detail in your update. I look forward to seeing the completed drawing.
Rich is the tile made from flower petals? Looks like material from a 19th century ball gown skirt. Very fancy looking.
John very nice composite. I like lilies. Who's birthday?
Fresias and XXP.
Rich
Thanks Rich. Very creative making the tile from the flower image.
Some nice stuff posted here thought I would add to the melange. with my latest not far to go with it.
From a photograph just taken in my living room..
Here are some of mine:
A thistle.
Rich
WOW!
Beautiful, Rich. Neatly done.
ron
Ron,
I extracted the thistle in XXP, and made a Sketch layer to blend it back with the original. The background is bitmap transparency using a hatch image and several layers of color and fills.
Rich
Very nice work from everyone. Bill, Ron, John, Rich, Norman and Salaam.
Bill was right in guessing that the Pumpkin grenade belongs to the Green Goblin. Well right now he is white, but he will be back here soon in color.
And people told me 45 years ago that reading comics was a waste of time :D ;)
Terrific drawing Bruce. It will be great seeing it in color.
Thanks Bill
A waste of time ? Some of my favorite movies are the Marvel Comics movies.
I saw Spiderman 3 not too long ago. The Fantastic 4 with the Silver surfer just came out, haven't seen that one yet. Last weekend I rented the Ghost Rider, that was a good movie too! Of course don't forget the Daredevil, X Men & The Incredible Hulk Movies. Did I miss any? I collected all of these comics when I was younger, and I still have most of them in the closet. ;)
Still working on it.
Bruce,
That is looking AWESOME! Like Bill, I can't wait to see the final work.
ron
Great stuff here as ever :)
really like those Fresias Rich - thats excellent
Ren - thats great - love to see it finished
makes me wish I wasn't tied to word at the moment [scripting - cartoons, they don't write themselves  ]
Ren,
Looks like a late 50's, early 60's model from the hair style. Where do you take it from here? Very nice rendering by the way.
ron
Thanks Steve, I appreciated you showed me how to draw hairs the other day. The attached image was inspired by you.
Ron, the original picture I used in the sketch was taken from a book, in which I found the lovely hair curves. The hair style was perfect for practicing drawing tablet. It took a long time for me to overcome both the drawing tablet and the techniques of hand drawing. The sketch was done in Xtreme Professional 3.22 by Art pen with Wacom drawing tablet (Intuos 3, 4x6 inch).
This started as a white cloud in a blue sky. I made it grayscale and inverted it. Then drew objects and adjusted the transparency profile for each object.
Just curious how this would work.
Rich
I'm still fascinated with using the blend tool for 3D construction.
This glass and bottle piece is 100% blend. It was harder to do than I thought, especially with the transparencies and inside details.
Just to let y'all know I'm still alive.
Not been doing much at all with drawing an' stuff - too many other things happenning.
Dipped into my WIP folder - this is still very much a work in progress.
One of those "I wish I'd never started" projects ...
P.S. Is the latest Xara software being shipped yet, anyone know?
Great to se you back Raymond and with a work of art as well, well done as usual.
I take it you mean version 3.2? been out for a while.
Hello Raymond. Nice project. It seems to me here eyes ask you to finish ... the one.
I tweaked on this one a wittle bit more. Didn't want to waste a new post on this so I am reposting it here.
I specified Photoshop as my bitmap editor and brought a duplicate of this image into Photoshop and applied a Zoom blur. I saved the image and the duplicate was instantly updated in Xtreme.
I applied an Elliptical transparency to the blurred duplicate reversing the transparency values so that the center was 100% transparent and the outside was 0% transparent.
The cactus is only about 8" tall and only flowered for one day.
Gary
:d
That! is beautiful Gary. Anymore like that?
Looks good Gary.
I`ve tried blend too.
Great Valery.
Xara is about the only program I know of where you can blend two photos, especially with transparency.
Gary
Nice cartoon Bruce. keep 'em coming. I always enjoy seeing your work.
PRetty neat Gary...
I would have tried placing an elliptical transparency of the original shot back over the zoom one, then doing the other transparency over that. The Cactus was the subject but you ended up blurring it out...:)
The effect is exactly what I wanted John.
Norm - more images of desert flora here.
