Decorative Ornaments Challenge
Hi. I had been working on these for a few days and when I saw
Sally's thread "Looking forward to some holiday joy", I thought I'd
post these. Consider them ornaments, wild planets, whatever.
And if you wish, feel free to use them.
Played around with images in Xtreme, used Paint Shop Pro to make
into spheres, finalized back in Xtreme.
I encourage you to share some ornament creations also.

Those are neat, Ken! I didn't know you could create spheres in PSP

Re: Decorative Ornaments Challenge
Thank you, Judi.
Though I have PSP 9, I tend to use PSP 7 -- I guess I'm
"stuck" in that mindset. I'm sure PSP 9 can do the same
as PSP 7. To create circle/sphere, in PSP 7, under Effects,
choose Geometric Effects, and then Circle. Then use a
bitmap prog or Xtreme to add shadowed area.

Re: Decorative Ornaments Challenge
Okay here are 3 ornaments. I imported the designs into PSP to distort them into spheres like you did. The rest is all XaraX.
Here is the .xar file

Re: Decorative Ornaments Challenge
It occured to me that "ornaments" don't necessarily
have to be round, just something to hang, on a tree,
in the house, etc.

Nice, Gary. Makes me think of the Santa tune ...
"he sees you when you're sleeping, he see's you
when you wake ..."

Re: Decorative Ornaments Challenge
Ho, ho, ho. Very creepy. Which reminds me - isn't "Santa" an anagram of "Satan"? <cue screechy violins...>

The worms must be hidden in the tree... Just cross you eyes, stand on your head, and take tree steps backwards... :D

Nice assortment of effects.
Here's my addition to the grouping, more of a Christmas card, though but still has an ornament, oh, well, though it is just one.
Has some lights too and some tree as well.
And lots of plugins too.

Thanks Judi. I had lots of fun making them, primarily by trial-and-error application of a wide range of freeware plugins and the use of various transparency modes.
I have tried these plugins many times over the years in programs like Photoshop and Paintshop Pro; but they were never anywhere near as interesting to use in those programs as in Xtreme. The combination of plugins as live effects, with vector tools, is unmatched anywhere else, in my experience (as a total hobbyist having fun).
I have attached a couple more below.
Glen
P.S. Akhtar, your designs are really rich and unique. Very nicely done.
