Re: Website Icon in IE tab
You can change the page title in the web properties box and here is how to add favicons :)

Re: Website Icon in IE tab
I think I may be putting the favicon in the wrong place or something because it is not showing up. I have it saved as favicon.ico in the same folder all of my pages are stored. Is it supposed to be where all of the images etc are stored?
Re: Website Icon in IE tab
It should be stored in the same folder as the index file. It's not always immediate though ;) :)
Re: Website Icon in IE tab
Yes, sometimes it can take a day or so to show up. Refresh the page in the browser. It also helps to empty the browser cache (usually found in Options).

Re: Website Icon in IE tab
It still isn't working. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. The file is named favicon.ico and is in the same place as all my pages (my index page is renamed home).
Re: Website Icon in IE tab
So your index page is home.htm? Your first page should be index.htm or index.html
Re: Website Icon in IE tab
If I change the name to index, will it work?
Re: Website Icon in IE tab
You can also put this code into a placeholder [e.g a rectangle] <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" /> using Web Properties/replace with html code. Using the yellow icon on the info bar name this placeholder <head> and put it in the paste board area [the grey area]

Re: Website Icon in IE tab
You have uploaded the favicon image to the server haven't you?
Re: Website Icon in IE tab
Hmm, well I am glad it is working for you. How does it look? :)
By upload to the server you just mean through publishing my website through my host right? If so, then yes. Sorry I am a newbie...
Re: Website Icon in IE tab
Well, you did ask :) How does it look? Here's an example on a site I made for my friend Scamble :) For this one I used the code <link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="favicon.ico"> but apparently modern browsers utilise the favicon.ico without any code.
Yes, the .ico should be uploaded to the main folder of your domain, where you have your index file.

Re: Website Icon in IE tab
OK. After a bit of research, you can do it this way
1] Create a placeholder [e.g. a small rectangle], open Web Properties and in 'link to file' browse to your favicon.ico and click apply - this imports the actual file and saves it into the index_htm_files folder
[2] Create another placeholder, name it <head> and in Web Properties/replace with html code add:- <link rel="shortcut icon" href="index_htm_files/favicon.ico" />
Put the placeholders on the pasteboard and re-publish your site
:)
PS To name the placeholder, click on the yellow icon ...
