Grid starting point
Hi for everyone, can you please have a short look on the attached picture, in Options there is Major spacing 100px with 10 divisions set for the document.
According to this I would think that the Major mark will start at 0,0 coordinates, but seems lower. Is there maybe some way to customize this?

Re: Grid starting point
Click on CTRL plus L to bring up your rulers. On the top left hand side where the vertical and horizontal rulers begin (0-0), you will see a small cross. Drag this to your starting point and this will bring the (0-0) point of the rulers to your starting point, which will solve your problem

Thanks very much, I was able to change it

Re: Grid starting point
Could I ask a short yet, in 10000% zoom there can be seen some place between of the grid point and the document, basically that is some part pixel?
Attachment 88618
I assume in such zoom that is even not a full pixel but what drives that?
thanks,

Re: Grid starting point
This will not solve the grid problem and I have no idea on how to achieve the grid to match your ruler position. However there will be someone who will come along and show you how I am sure.

Re: Grid starting point
I don't ever use a grid (well, I did a couple times). Here's my set up and the resulting screen capture of the grid. I used little transparent circles to highlight the grid. I had the zoom set to 20,000.
Take care, Mike

Re: Grid starting point
Mike thanks, your screen shows the 0,0 really at the top of the document. For me that is slightly higher, and can not move downer with pulling the cross downer.
To demonstrate the difference I was able to snap a pink circle to the grid, and a yellow rectangle to the top of the document, so from very slight point of view but they have different coordinates

Re: Grid starting point
Have you tried setting your origins in the Options dialog like as in the screen shot?
Also, can you up load a sample file for me to look at? I'll be heading off to sleep here pretty soon but will be up for a few minutes...

Re: Grid starting point
Hi Mike, just sleep calmly it is not urgent :-)
In the previous post I uploaded the grid.xar file, and yes tried to set the origin point, it seems so "around" 0

Re: Grid starting point
Ah--the link was beside the screen shot. I should read better!
The page setup was off. I have attached a new version of the file.
Take care, Mike

Re: Grid starting point
Thanks in your file the 0,0 is really at the exact beginning of the document.
This page setup off is in right click document Page Options menu somewhere?

Re: Grid starting point
Look at the page setup and grid origin points in their respective tabs of the options dialog. Change the page size to custom--it will keep your page size intact. But note the dimensions. Now look at the grid setup tab. Note the different length/height numbers.
Take care, Mike

Re: Grid starting point
Ah thanks so in Page Options at the Grid and Ruler tab the Y coordinate of the origin point (1130 in the example) should be equal with the one on the Page Size at Height 1130.
