Thanks Gare, relating the time the houses were ready fast but the dice took me quite much longer.. Because how to extrude a dice without using any other tool?
Finally what was applied that is an extrude of a square as the 5, plus cloning that and turning with 90 exactly degrees, but both having Darken transparency so their black colours for 3 and 1 are not lost and putting so over

Csehz you posted at 5.16a.m. as the World Cup started :D Seriously though you did a great job on the monopoly drawing but wondering why you did the dice the way you have shown or am I missing something :rolleyes: I've not attempted the drawing yet but did the dice by making an extrusion and applying faces to it with the mould tool. Better explained in the diagram I've posted. If there is a reason for why you did the dice the way you have please explain to stupid sat here!:D

Relating to the dice, yes you are right of course could be done with the mould tool. But I wanted to create the whole drawing from extrudes, do not know why, maybe because the Extrude tool I like and the Mould tool not :) And at least at hobbies the heart should lead, so let's use the Extrude tool unusually :)
Great reply csehz, I just set the alarm clock for the night matches I want to watch. With regards the dice or any work, your absolutely right, follow your heart. I like the mould tool but wish there was away of more control with it.

For something simple like cube even mould tool would be overkill. Much faster just to draw all the faces of the cube, create single ellipse for all the faces needed and finally copy and position those ellipses to each faces.
In my opinion tools like extrude tool are handy as reference to get correct perspective to help the actual drawing but if something much more complicated things are needed, then would be better just to use real 3D software instead to achieve those things.
If you read from #30 onwards you will see the whole exercise for the monopoly board csehz started was for all to be done with the extrude tool including correct perspective so copying the dots from one face to another would not give you that, so your left with the mould tool or the method csehz used, unfortunately everyone does not have 3D software.

Please let me chime here, because there's far too much "looking at the small picture", and not enough mutual examination and appreciation of what other members have accomplished.
There is no right or wrong way to create an image of dice, except if it looks wrong. Appearance is everything in Art; your audience can't guess what you meant, but failed at it, they don't know or care what your tools and methods are—that's stuff art historians get into, not TalkGraphics, the World's Most Artistic Coffee Shop! :)
Listen: my father went to Las Vegas once on business (lots of conventions there), and he brought me back authentic dice from The Sands and used playing card decks—the casinos throw away or give away gambling stuff that isn't fresh.
The dice? They were perfect cubes, and the reason why was because they were thrown on felt-lined tables which wouldn't be damaged.
But playing board dice aren't cubes—they are filleted cubes, the corners are rounded so you don't destroy the cardboard playing board within a week.

Some extra lines needed as guides to help positioning and to keep things in perspective but quite possible to make those filleted edges manual way. Needs lots of cleanup, removing extra lines and hidden line removal but will show the basic idea.
But now I am off to work.
I appreciate what all members submit as their method for what ever Gary and there is no wrong or right as you pointed out, I prefer the mould tool in this instance for the dice as I can get the dots in the right perspective and they look more true than placed, of course that is my preference but I like the mould tool. :D

That dot is only a circle and when put into a perspective you have ellipse.
You can shear/rotate circle to get the ellipse or easier and accurate enough just to guesstimate correct major/minor radiuses for the ellipse and then align it for the perspective needed. (Actually mold tool works pretty same way as shear/rotate but in more interactive way.)

And that's exactly why I prefer it. :D Every one likes one method or another for most things in Xara and I try to take on board most of them as you never know when you will need that particular method.
