Very descriptive image. I can tell what the film is but can't do anything with it until I get home.
It takes a lot of thinking to make something simple, I've a long way to go.
I'm finding the simpler, the less to go wrong.
Luck with your approach.
Acorn
One of my favorite scenes is when Clouseau accidentally sets his long suffering boss's waste paper basket on fire.
It's more fun this way as we get to see how lateral or literal people are.
Keep them coming.
Acorn
P.S. Some good work here - thanks.
Dunno. It just is one of my favorite scenes from the series (the original series with Peter Sellers). And yeah, David Strover, you are right, of course. But it is what always comes my mind. Or what is left of it.Quote:
The question is was this "written" clue(sew) a spoiler or a bit of fun?
Now that I'm home I guess I'll have to do one, but, my interpretation of the image as a film title is not the same film as you guys are posting. I wonder which of us is wrong, probably me.
I do not know.
I did not know film.
For cons, I quickly aged well I think ... (2014)
A second picture clue:

I am going to post this just to see if I got the correct film. Sorry but is is not minimalist but more photo manuplipation.

I wish I could take part in this. But, I can't.
I've got to wait a whole year.
It clearly says 'October 2014' ;))
Well, that's why I posted the Pink Panther one which Acorn will ask for next year! This darn Shining!
I've decided to renege on my rule about no discussion so I am able to open up some debate on what the film was that I had in mind.
Here is a small clue; the pink shape functions in a similar way to a homunculus.
Acorn
OK here is another guess.

Well that one is 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' [original].
I still haven't had time to even try one but I thought the original one was something like 'Rosemary's Baby' or 'The Wicker Man' - I thought the tailed figure was 'Satan' but then the small figure is pink so maybe I thought a devil and a small child. I'm very confused. The keyhole or chess piece image has served to confuse me further I'm sorry to say.
David
Me too David, It's a hard one to figure out. At least what I did was recognizable as to the film I attempted to show, right or wrong I don't know. At first I thought the film was "Little Big Man", so this is probably wrong too.
I have another idea as to the film but no idea how to show it. At least not yet.
I definitely got "The Day the Earth stood still". Perhaps I should pretend that's the one.
All is not lost, however, as my original movie is still obtainable, unlike one of it's key elements.
That was another clue.
Acorn
Unobtainium.
Final clue.
The Post is now open for panning if you didn't get my drawings or other hints.
Do remember, any criticism must come with your Minimalist Poster.
Have a go.

I hope you can tell what this is. I thought about putting some text on it but decided not to give away the answer if I am correct on this one.

I think this addresses the original movie?

I'm still stumped. Acorn your last post made me think of another film but David's post kind of threw me. So I'm still stumped although my last had an original which is still available and lately there have been more films with the same title but nothing like the original at least not as far as I know. There is something in common with yours and David's however which still leaves me wondering. Maybe I have the answer, so now to put my current idea into a minimalist poster.
I'm sure I have it this time.

You do.
As for me I'm just obsessed and lazy so I'll use my shadow trick again [although this was done from scratch in about half an hour so I must get a few points for that] :D

I've made a right mess with posting this - so if anyone can delete the png I would be grateful. I tried on the edit post but couldn't work out how to do it.
I've been struggling to do this for you David. Hopefully it's OK now.
