I only use my IP provider's webmail . It has 2 advantages All the garbage is not downloaded to my computer, and I can access it from any computer.
Oh and I occasionally use G-Mail.
Hi,
I'm using poppeeper
Little program that can read the heads on the server.
Gives you new mail notification
You can select the mail you don't want to download and remove
instantly(from server)
It also can get your mail from webmail and imap accounts as well
Hans
I only use the ISP's webmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo. Like Judi said, I dont get the garbage and I can access from any computer with internet service.
I read my email top to bottom, left to right. :D
I use both web-side email (hotmail & gmail) and client-side (outlook)
:) :) I use MAILWASHER. You can get rid of all the crap before you download to Outlook Express.
Lots of exotic methods above - how do you all find the time?!
I use Outlook 2003 - combined with SpamAssassin running on the server before my PC sees the email, Outlook's own Junk Email filter sees to it that less than two spam messages a week make it to my Inbox.
As a creature of habit, I use Netscape Communicator (last available in v7.+) I truly enjoy designing my own stationery for E-mail.
Since my ISP has a strong and customizable spam/virus filter in place, no such miscreants reach my inbox. Whew!
I DL it... if I don't like what is in the header.. in the trash it goes... Never even open 90% of "email". Just select everything, then deselect what I don't want and hit delete. Takes less than 2 minutes to review 500 emails.... and I only see what I want, but don't have to worry about a stupid program tossing out something I need.:)
I only use web-mail such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail. These types of email accounts are safe and handy.
I use both, web based for my personal mails and outlook for my business ones.
Email client is Outlook 2003, messages pre-screened by Mailwasher before downloading to the PC.
Occasionally use Gmail online and my ISP's webmail service if accessing mail while not at home.
I am one of those who use webmail such as Gmail, Hotmail etc. These types of accounts are safe as I think.
I use Incredimail Premium (with its own JunkfilterPlus) and couldn't be happier. I have been using it for years.
I use Outlook for everything.
Me too. It's actually meant for kids really, but if you get their letter creator software it's great for making professional headers and footers which are picked up by the majority of other email clients. It also has a great facility where you can set rules and state that anything with certain trigger words or phrases are deleted from the server so you never even actually download them.
both....
I use Mozilla Thunderbird, like Firefox there are all kinds of add ons for it. Once you have trained the junk mail filter it works great. I have used Xara to design headers that I've inserted into an e-mail and then saved as a template. I also have an add on that allows me to insert custom smilies that I design in Xara of course.
I've used FOXMAIL for many many years (I stopped updating at version 5), it was one of the first to employ a 'remote' viewer whereby you can view the mail waiting on the server, delete the cr*p and only download the legit stuff.
FOXMAIL has tons of features ( most I don't use) but the best being that once installed, you can copy the entire Foxmail folder to a USB stick and run it from that as everything is contained in it's own folder. So moving your email, contacts and account settings is a piece of cake.
FOXMAIL is used for all my business mail, while for personal mail I use Gmail which now, since Google Chrome, I run as an application window.
I use TheBat! Pro. I used to use Outlook 2003 but it kept getting gummed up and giving me problems so I switched and have had no issues with TB. I also use Gmail where I forward some of my older email accounts to. Gmail is great in that it has a very good AntiSpam feature so I no longer need to use MailWasher, which I had used for over a year. Gmail also has IMAP capability. I read over their advice on using IMAP as opposed to POP in that you can synchronize your email client and webmail with it. That means, if I delete a message from my Gmail account using TheBat, it gets deleted on the web (actually only moved to archive), and vice versa, if I move mail on the web it is reflected in my email client. Another plus for TheBat is that it uses less system resources than Outlook.
Gmail is great for checking your mail while away from home and being able to access it without the use of an email client.
Outlook
Both ways, actually. At the office, since we're being a thick corporate firewall, I use the Web interface. From home, I use Pegasus Mail. I like them both about the same amount.
I have used Google Gmail exclusively for the last couple years. Can't imagine going back to anything else. No service interruptions, no worry about spam, automatic threading of messages, never worry about filling up your mail box, a host of handy tools. Seems just about perfect to me.
web based email is the best.
With glasses mostly
Pint glass and shot glass?
How do you read your email?
Er ....wiv me eyes.
Outlook using my own mail server at home, I don't trust third parties like Google with my mail.
Two answers for me...
Personal email : I use web based tools (gmail, ISP webmail and hotmail) but also use Outlook Express at home as a kind of storage email device.
Work : Outlook 2003, Outlook Web Access, Push email on my HTC mobile phone (with WinMobile).
I have found that the syncing of Outlook contacts with my mobile phone a fantastic feature and the ability to send and receive emails while mobile is great. However, Windows Mobile is terrible operating system for a phone if you want to use it to make or answer calls!

:cool:I go to my blog site( catch22.21publish) to catch and read email
Thunderbird in plain text only. Not very pretty but safer than reading downloaded e-mails in HTML.
serverside, ssh + mutt
Thunderbird using imap, though I do still have one pop account at work.
Also have a yahoo account I use sparingly.
Both.
Private POP mailfor a trusted few, but then gmail for everything else. I have quite a few custom filters set up and they work quite nicely! You can't beat 8GB of storage, and the file attachment size is very generous. Best of all is the search feature. It can find specific words, or phrases faster than you can do a normal Google search... that is fantastic.
I also like the built in video/chat client they have for the few people I allow to see me online.
I send my regular account thru my Gmail account to clean up the spam
then I read it all in Thunderbird. :)
