Like I've said, I don't have the money to pay
top models. So, I used a photo. Just for position
of elements. The rest is from the 'gray matter'.
Enjoy...

I think the shadow on her face is too "deep," but the hair is fabulous!

William,
EXCELLENT WORK!
Would you consider sharing some tips on your going about this work. What are your basic steps, etc. I get caught up in details and keep running into trees in the forest. HELP!
The hair treatment is really awesome.
From this old guy to another - WOW!
Wayne D
I love the detail. I know there are a few that did the mini and full on tuts but if you would be so kind, I'm with Wayne. Show us please, if ya got the time!!!
Hey Gidgit: I had no idea that my grandma used to shuck peas with her mouth!! Now I know her secret, he he he!! Silly me!! ...doing things like this.
Thank ya'll for your gracious comments!
I'll see if I can give a mini-tut.
Dale, (ha), it's 'gimmerish' in the sense that
when you look at it at some distance it looks great..but when you see Close-Up..yuk,it's gimmerish. Also,is the fact that I working with
a digpen, I don't worry if lines etc.are tweaky
clean. The hair looks like a plate of 'pasta'.
....buuuuut it sure is fun!
Sad news about the floods...let's count our Blessings!
..having a cool one, today..

...Not too slick, but I think it will give an
idea of what / how it was done.
I'll get a hair mini-tut (not 'haircut) soon.
CYA'll..
Bill
..Here is a simple Hair mini-tut.
Doing this type of illustrating with this
fabulous XARA X is truly very satisfying!
Yeah, I've done this kind of work with my
air-brush, pens & brushes, but with Xara
it is very exciting in that you can 'change'
an effect instantly. With air-brushing or
watercolor etc. you have to really Visualize
it before you do it.
Enjoy, all...

Hi Bill,
As always you create impressive images. You're doodle here is excellent. Thanks for the mini tutorials.
Soquili
Thanks Bill for posting min tut. Wonderful image.
Excellent Again
This is great info... and so quickly!

Great looking Girl Bill!
I see that you use a digital pen ? Is this the same as a drawing tablet ? What kind do you have. I think this must make a lot of work easier than trying to do it with a mouse. Like the hair, for example. Maybe I will get one of those pens someday.
..all for comments.
Bruce= I've been using Wacom digital pads since
they came out. They have come a long way. Now you
can get one that has your complete interface on the
tablet....you don't even have to look at monitor.
Mine is a small 4x5 Intous. The Graphire is Ok, but
not as exact as Intous. I really recommend that
you get one...a whole new concept opens up.
Until next..

Nice work there Bill !!

I was inspierd, and told my wife I needed a model to draw. She gave me a magazine and two water ballons. It isn't even warm outdoors. I did fairly well on most things, but the hair was just too much. She said I didn't know much about women because no one would ever have hair as I had drawn it. She decided to do the hair, but doesn't know too much about drawing on a computer. It was a great time to take the dogs for a long walk in the woods. Thanks for the instructions on making hair, you may have saved my life. Rich
