Looking for some cool drop down menus and downloaded Menu Maker, but can't seem to see if you can import your own button graphics.
Can this be done or are you limited to the buttons in there list (only some of which are available in the 15 day download.

but my guess is you cannot customize it with your own graphics.
But I believe you do have some control over the colors, fonts, button shapes, etc. and so it sounds like a pretty good deal.
I wonder if you could look at the code for the button names, sizes, etc. and substitute your images using the names and sizes in the script?

NOPE, what you see is what you get!!
Not a bad little application but these days most of the website building apps have rollover creation utilities built in or you can create them in XaraX (not as easily as the WYSIWYG builders though http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif ).
There ARE many more buttons that you can download if you buy the application but, for me, untill they allow for importation of your own art work then it's just gonna sit there in my ever growing cache of unused programs.

If I am correct you can create drop down menus with flyout sub menus which is not something you can do in most applications. At least not the ones I use :-)

Thanks for confirming what I thought. Sometimes with a new app you mis the import button, but seems there is not.
For the Xara PR it does seem to be a nice tool, but if you want to add drop downs to an existing site it will not do.

... but I think you can do your own templates design.
Firstly you can create your buttons templates and save them as .xgt (xara graphics template format).
Then you must create "an index file", but it more difficult. I not yet understand this format that describing all graphic elements for use in the programm... so sorry...
Those who interested just search the Xara MM directory and try to import a few files in XaraX... You'll wondered... I promise! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Alexander,
Can you post a small examble of this on your web site and give us the URL?
Did you see Mike Hennessey's Post in the Xara Gallery Conference?
He did your phone tutorial very well. You are a good teacher :-)

... I did this in Webstyle 3 trial, not with MM...
But I think Webstyle and MM are related products.
So Gary what you want I'll post exactly?
How I substituted my graphic elements of how I made changes in JScript codes? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

If you open the js extension file you can see where the script calls out the graphics, you can change the names to suit, I don't know if Xara knows this or not but I tried and it worked, i used dreamweaver to open the *.js file.
-
check out Applied Networks exampleit uses the Xara code - altered for my own graphics.
You might even notice the Xara3d work on that page and if you go to the home page you'll see my attempt at flash (all imported from Xara).
To side track of the MM topic feel free to give you views on the site.
The main point to raise is that MM is there to take the hard work out of making Menus and for this work it did not do that.

PS the logo was my design as well.

Turan....
I'm curious/interested - the Logo on applied networks - that's Xara 3d isnt it... but how did you create the design - ? - that's not something normally creatable in Xara3d is it?
and an interesting post on the MM and making your own button templates - I must have a go at it!

Hello Friday,
That was just a doodle that Turan made in xara. The .xar file is then imported into X3d5 and rotated.
