Hi Kelly, welcome to TG. I love the colors in your doodles - that top one is quite peaceful.
Isn't it a shame you can't just print it out larger and have it sell for $10,000 or something to some bank where they hang it in their lobby?
Why not? It looks great! (i like them both)
Hi
I wouldn't give you £10,000 for it but the more you play the more you find out what Xara can do.
Keep playing and keep learning whilst having fun.
Derek
Welcome Kelly
I am attaching your image so others don't have to download the file.
Nice doodles. Xara is endless fun :)

Just in time for Ascot (English racing event where all the women wear fancy hats) My model will show of your swirls. Hope you don't mind.

Here's your second image.
To attach a file direct, go to export on the menu and export the image as a .jeg or whatever. To colour your objects, highlight the object and click on the appropriate colour on the palette. The fill tool is more useful for graduatedQuote:

That cat is EXCELLENT and since you are from Cheshire, it must be a Cheshire Cat...
If you draw a shape either free hand with the pencil tool or a quick shape, an elipse or a rectangle etc. and simply click on a colour swatch it will fill with your chosen colour. A freehand shape must be closed to fill with a colour, ie. the end of the line must meet the beginning. Or have you found out all that already?Quote:

Kelly you can add another dimension to your drawings with just a few clicks of the bevel tool.
To post your art directly in your post:
1. When your finished with your drawing, go to the File menu in Xara.
2. Find the ( Export ) function in the drop down list, and click on it.
3. A window will appear were you can name your art file and assign a file type.
4. Name your file and then in the box below click the drop down box
and save the file as a jpeg.
5. For now just keep it at (true color) and click Export.
6. remember were you saved it. When you post a new thread click the paper clip icon and attach the saved jpeg file.
Lots of cool stuff can be done in Xara. Watch the movies in the hep section.
Rather than close the shapes you have already drawn in your wolf squiggle you could draw over them on another layer to produce closed shapes, fill with an appropriate colour and remove the line. Then place the filled shapes behind your drawing and change your line style to something more catoonish.
See attached.
Open your layer gallery and switch one or other layer off to see whats where.
The trouble with drawing rapidly in Xara is that you have to have the line smoothing just right. Turn it too far down and the line is a mess of points, too far the other way and its so smooth it bears no resemblance to what you meant to draw.
Drawing freely and then tracing carefully, or at least more slowly, the result on another layer gives you the option of retaining that freedom to draw rapidly while being able to produce shapes you can fill and another set of lines you can apply various profiles too or simply delete to leave your coloured shapes.
I get the impression you like to draw very quickly so this way might be a method of colouring afterwards rather than trying to close shapes drawn quickly with carefully added extra bits of line.
The alternative is to produce your drawing on paper, scan and manualy trace on a new layer to reproduce your sketch that way. Thats how I drew this pair, shown unfinished, for use in another drawing.
