I had the privilege of looking at how these all-new propellers were made, and Igor's instructions are top-drawer for emulating his style with this brilliant deployment of Xara's features.
The guy is as brilliant as he is generous. I contacted him out of the blue, and he got right to work making new examples for all of us...in fact, he was finished, a polished product, two days before I was even ready to look at them.
Now there is a kind soul. Thanks again, Igor!

Little help here guys, I've started to draw the first design in this months giveaway, everything ok until the last stage, call me Mr.Thicky but can't figure out whats going on. The image shows the two final stages I've reached.

Re: December 2014 Giveaway - Igor Vojtela's Propellers
As far as I can tell, Stygg, there's a mistake verey early on in the process. Were I to do this, and I can't say I've tried Igor's wonderful steps, I'd to a Blend of the two orbs, on small and one large, and then blend them along an arc, The I'd set the centre rotation point at one end, and keep dropping a copy intil you have the spiral. Limiting the angle constraint to something like 12 degrees under General Options might help.
See the crappy advice you get when Igor isn't on call?
:(

Hi, Stygg
You are true - they are not the same.
Try this:
1 at first make group from all circles
2. duplicate this group
3. scaling second group cca 95%
4. make transparency 40-50%
5. rotate second group 5 degrees
6. alignment centrally
;)

Small note:
first - large images on pages are not identical to the last one
It's demonstration - how to make modification

Finally got there after Igor's reply. I settled for this image I made, brings to mind peacock feathers, but you can alter it many times with duplicated shapes and transparencies. Bit difficult to explain so I've posted the .xar file as well. I like that image in #12 Maya :D

I like how your circles design turned out Stygg! =D>
Glad you liked my sunblast flower... I've been trying all sorts of stuff! Here's one with some stars and it just kept morphing. :)

Maya—I just looked at your image while peering through a kaleidoscope and taking some pain medication.
I do believe, just for a moment, I experienced the birth of the Universe.
It was better than Star Wars.

That is great idea to draw a propeller and gave a name to the subconscious content like so - 'The Birth of the Universe' :D
Then maybe this one is 'Fractal Christmas', relating the method the fractal clouds graininess was set to 2 and moved in a circle to different positions to form four symmetrical shapes inside, then placed them on big circle and resized&rotated

I wonder what could happen if live copies were used.

Live copies of the fractal, or live copies of csehz?
If the latter, can I watch?

Igor I think your magic is in your taste somehow, I am aware of a lot of techniques but would not be able to near to yours ones :D
Anyway in the mentioned live copies there is a huge power that already Frances showed here last year http://www.xaraxone.com/free-stuff/n...free-giveaway/ in the Snowflake Maker.
Using the 15 degrees slices of a circle, that logic could be used also here of course

Re: December 2014 Giveaway - Igor Vojtela's Propellers
csehz, Igor is a magician. He makes hard stuff look easy, and his secret weapon is that he's a great artist who has a background in math.
Math is geometry, geometry is what Xara is made up of, therefore...um, if I have my tautologies correct, then Igor is Xara.

Exactly had the same impression looking through the tutorial, ideal combination in a person for vector graphics.
I have just tried yet put over 3 Live Copy layers on each other to boost some combinations, but so it is possible in any numbers

If it is a kaleidoscope, we need to use mirroring, not rotation ;)

It contains so five live copy groups on each other made from 15 degrees circle parts in each, with Ctrl + click any of their shape can be selected and nodes added/replaced in Shape tool, or fills/colours modified of course
