I don't know if I've ever seen or heard of one, but I'm sure it will be brilliantly drawn when you post the final image.
Going by your past record on cars Ron I'll bet it will be another cracker.
Update. Still have a few details and the wheels and tires to do. That will take a while.
ron
It's completed. Couldn't decide what to do with the license plate, though. Any suggestions?
ron
Superb as usual Ron. I have just drawn a couple of bull-nosed Morris cars but after seeing yours I don't think I should bother. Licence plate why not just "RON1"
dunno if those door hinges will work very well in their current position, but hell, I would never open the damn things anyway... way mo' cooler to hop over.
aside from that, what is there to say but 'superb'?
geo.
superb is right! and those wheels are simply gorgeous
Beautiful!
Excellent artwork Ron. The original designers of the car also did beautiful work.
Many of the antique cars I've seen simply have the model year or model year and make on the front tag. Tennessee only requires a tag on the rear of the vehicle so the owners are free to use what they like for a front tag.
Great looking car. And I agree with Norman. Just put your name on the plate.
Great work, Ron.
Remi
Nicely rendered as usual :)
I love this. Great work. What version (extreme, Pro, 3D, etc) of Xara is needed to create things like this.
thank you. Amazing work. I can't imagine the time you must put in to something like this.
GREAT as always Ron, but now it's time for a challenge for you. how about either a Lola T-70 or a Porsche 908 longtail. Two of my favorite racing cars from the great days!!
Another fantastic drawing Ron. One thing that puzzles me though ... would the left side headlight be in front of the mudguard?
Eric!
You're right. How did I do that? I will fix it immediately. OHHHH! I hate when that happens.
ron
Surely worth 5 star rating.By the way who awards the rating ? is it the moderator or how is it awarded?
Norman anyone can rate a thread. At the beginning of the thread near the right side of the screen you will see "Rate Thread". Click on the little triangle with it's apex pointing down. You can then select the rating you want to 'vote' for the thread.
The number of stars shown is an approximation of all 'votes'.
In the past we had a few troublemakers that would purposefully give every thread a 1 star vote so that no thread would show a 5 star rating.
Thank you Bill. I ken noo as they say in Scotland.
Problem fixed, Eric.
ron
Gorgeous!
Until Eric mentioned it, I never noticed the headlamp being on the viewers side of the mud guard (fender).
This is my new favorite of all your drawings. Something about the classic design simply grabs my attention. :)
I agree with you Bill. All Rons car images are great but this one is very special.Quote:

Ron, after you've been looking at a creation hour after hour, usually over several days, it's very easy to miss the obvious.
I want one!..amazing ron!!!!!!!
The best yet, Ron
Wonderful stuff .

SUPERB Put me down for one

I hope this isn't an insult to anyone, but I really want to learn this. Do you guys start with a traced bitmap of an image or do you draw the entire picture from the ground up?
Crypto have you used pencil or pen & ink on paper to draw? Using a vector graphics program is similar to that, only pencils and pens do not have an undo button :) .
Do you have Xtreme or another program that you use?
If you are beginning without any experience, it is best to learn what each tool does. Gary Priester's XaraXone has many resources to help you learn. The Workbooks and Webxealot section have tutorials that tell what each tool in Xara X (these apply to X¹, Xtreme, and Xtreme Pro) can do and how it can be used.
If you want to learn to use Xtreme, I recommend reading some of the Workbooks at http://www.xaraxone.com and you can always post any questions in the Xara Xtreme forum.
Crypto,
There is a tutorial, I believe, in the xaraone as mentioned by Bill. All, but a very few, of my drawings of cars/motorcycles are done with the help of a photograph placed on an uneditable layer in Xara. This allows me to trace the various parts of the photo and color/shade/transparency/blend etc. to emulate the photo itself.
I'm speaking for myself only, of course, but I don't think I would want to put in the time to do it any other way.
I have recently done a drawing of a chopper (motorcycle) which was all my own creation "from the ground up" as you put it. I've also done a couple of cars that way. EXTREMELY time consuming in that it takes a lot of research to get the details right.
Hope this helps.
Thanks all for your kind words.
ron
I have CorelDraw X3 and Xara Extreme. I have a good understanding of the tools and how they are used, but I was curious if these drawings were all done with no tracing.
Thanks for the help and resources
Nice car Ron, as always.
i like the DOF and the rims.
sorry Ron, that was in response to a previous poster. I forgot to include the quote.
thanks for the help
Really nice car. Brilliant!

Nice Marble Avatar - What did you do it in?
Yep that's a beauty.
You could drive it right off the page.
Nice one.
