BQ, have you tried this link and submitted your JPG image?

It throws up some close matches when I tried it, but not sure how precise you need it to be (i.e. does it have to be an exact match).
It could be Diamanti Diagonal EF Heavy. It is not a free font though.

Yes, I did try What The Font and yes I do need an exact match. Was hoping it would be a free font because I only need it once. Thanks for trying.
Are you doing just a word or two as in a logo? If that's the case you could easily trace this with the Shape Tool, which would give you an exact match.
BQ, this looks very like it - its free. Worth a try to see what the italic version looks like.

DOAADI,
That looks pretty close. I'll give it a try. Thanks for researching it and responding to my post.
WIZARD,
I love your slogan "Due to current economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off."
I used the same font on a logo i made a few weeks back. If im not mistaken the font is Lunch Time Normal another similar one is Jhiaxus Oblique. Hope this helps.
This is a small sample of the font that's needed, but the captial "C" is quite characteristic of Bitstreams' Compacta family.
I used Compacta Black in this screen capture, and then skewed it by 28 degrees (in Xara) to the right to make an oblique version (which is often what an italic family member truly is).

It's not an expensive typeface, and it's not hard to do this with Xara.
My Best,
Gary
OG is closest with Compacta Black. Almonte is not even close.
But the V appears to have been modified (see attached) and will need to be edited.
Help! Do you know this font?

Can you post a slightly larger example of the font?
Otherwise, the typeface you see is: condensed, has a very low crossbar on the "A", it might be an all cap font (no lower case) and the serif type is slab serif.
That's the info I can provide you with some descriptions that might helps others help you locate the font. Myfonts/com has a forum with expert human participants that are very, very good at spotting a face if the automated service cannot do it.

Thanks; boy the first one is a real head-scratcher because it looks like a condensed version of Stymie (also known as Lubalin Graph), or a condensed Clarendon.
Rhe body text has got to be a shareware font, and not something you'd choose from a major vendor.
I could offer something close, but you want the "real deal", I'm certain.
My Best,
Gart
Thanks Gare, I've been searching for a long time and didn't even come close to figuring out what they were. There are two sites I look in to help but so far with this and others I have batted zero.
Gary Priester has often offered the most direct route to figuring out what typeface is used: you ask the designer or the company!
Yeah, it's fun guessing and researching, but I also understand that it's sometimes as intriguing as watching grass grow, you know?
Seriously, there are SO many independent font creators that it's nearly impossible to find the precise one, because these "indie" fonts aren't indexed or cataloged anywhere. I get requests for "Whimsy", a Charityware font I built about every other month, and I'm stunned at where the requester found a copy. Bundled with Photoshop Elements (Adobe does NOT have my permission), on just about every font site, pirate or legit, but if you're a font creator, you can make the hassle of someone locating your typeface by simply putting a read me in a Zip file along with the typeface.
