First thing that came to mind once rotated 90 degrees was a lifeboat davit but I settled on a helmet.
@egg, great minds (re davit) and I like the helmet!
I’ve just been reading a fascinating book which I picked up in a local bookshop about the ‘Town class light cruiser’ HMS Birmingham. Not my usual reading matter, the book is basically the history and builders plans (general arrangement drawings) for the whole ship. Some of the original drawings were over 12 ft (3.65 m) long.

Can you imagine a draftsman working on a drawing that size! You could have 4 of them working on it at the same time.Quote:

Scribbles and blends......
I'm away for a short while, guys and gals.
So... can I say a collective WELL DONE to all who've posted so far.
I know, it's the wrong time. But this is what I see at first.

first thing that came into my mind was an alphorn
but I decided to see what I could doodle in xara using mouse only in 15 mins, just because

eat your heart out jono, not....
I'm open to suggestions... we could always run a sweepstake for the best answer ;)Quote:
once I work out what it is!
A mule/donkey HD?
equidae certainly and mule is good :)
I even had to Google "equidae".
" Is this your mule Señor HD?":
good try mi amigo but I prefer:

if I were only that clever
'course technically that's not a mule, the equid that is... the rider maybe, I leave that up to you...
This is kind of lame. I'm in production with Mary's new novel and Xara (why oh why do I insist on using Xara!?) and have not had much time for anything else.
like that Gary ;) all for the minimalistic me.
back to the scribble then:

the equine shape not done in xara; a wobbly freehand pen and no canvas rotate [so I can keep locked shapes locked and have no grouping issues] is not helpful to me, and the body colouration is so much easier in raster...
but hey each to their own; can you spot the scribble shape ;))
... oh almost forgot, yes they probably are the wrong way round, but they didn't look right otherwise, artistic licence
Great scribbles, hd liking the equine cartoon.
I’ve used the scribble line in several places. I used to enjoy an occasional pipe - about forty years ago!

.... and the Bent Boris is very topical atm :D
@Rik, thanks. Yes, Pike would be a great pipe name - ‘this is not a pike!’. ;)
@egg Yes, ‘bent’ as in: dishonest, dishonourable, corrupt, untrustworthy etc
Another quick one from me.
A fictional insect, but it is actually ‘Insect week’ here in the UK, organised by the Royal Entomological Society.

Here's one from me.
As I'm a keen golfer, I thought I would...
Excellent Rik. Very clean work and I like the glossy reflection. Not being a golfer, that’s something I would never have thought of. I do enjoy watching it on the telly though.
