With the help of the split tool in Silo it's possible to draw some simple thing on a paper, based on very simple shapes and to begin immediately to transpose it on the screen !!!

Nice work Ivan http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
I really like the way you have matched the person with the car if you know what I mean.
Yea, Ivan is having way too much fun for sure eh http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Classic designs, Ivan!
My Best,
Gare
Thanks !!!
Yes there are some stylistic similitudes between the person and the car. That's partly because of the simple technics I use, but not only.
Gary, I think I understand what you mean by "classic". In fact I am finding a spontaneity similar to what I had in those drawings
Here are some of my steps (sorry for the weight).
1. Extrusion of one quarter of a sphere derivated from a cube subdivided two times ;
2. Using "Connect" tool to subdivide some polys on top of the head to create the hair ;
3. Extruding along normals (two steps to separate the four rows) ;
4. Creating mouth, nose and eyes with the "Connect" tool ;
5. Extruding the ears along normals ;
6. Extrusion inside for the eyes cavity ;
7. Re-Extrusion outside for the eyes themselves.
Kindly,
ivan

Hey great tut there Ivan, and yea on those drawing's... alot from a little... though one still has to "see" this stuff in order to do it http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
to which, wow, all those carrots you ate as a kid have sure paid off http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Keep it coming man... this is just like taking an online art course http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Ivan,
By classic, I mean:
•Definitive
•Timeless
•Appreciated by all.
And it's all in your style/concept, my friend.
My Best,
Gary
Gidgit, what do you mean with carrots ???

Ivan... anybody who "see's" as well as you re- concept design, must have eaten a bunch of carrots... roll'n on a pun relating to carrots being good for one's eye sight...
ok, so I suck at jokes... hehe
but man, you have got this modeling with Silo down pat... Ivan the "SiloMan" http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
nice rabbit http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Ivan,
I'm convinced that you can take ANY 2D design and make it into 3D.
Do you want to take a crack at dimensionalizing one of my 2D designs?
My Best,
Gare

Free education! The Writings Web site
and the updated GaryWorld Gallery is pretty okay, too.
Yes Gary, I could try and that should be an interesting experiment ! Don't hesitate to send me something, but that will be for tomorrow because now I am very tired !

Ivan, you are something else. 2D or 3D you've got the magic touch. I think the ability to see that face in a sphere is the true meaning of creativity.
Does this little guy own the car? I think he probably needs a house now...surrounded by rose bushes of course!
Mickie
No Mickie, He doesn't own the car ; in fact this is an inconscient caricature of a friend who actually prefers motorcycles.

ivan
