Fun.
As with many things in Xara's products, there is more than one way to skin a cat. Here is a mini-tut on how to get a similar effect with a vector fill.

Yes, agree Eric, there's always several ways to achieve something in Xara. Nice alternative :)
Egg: That's a very nice gift.
Eric: I thought I would have a bit of a play with your method. You can get a pretty good result.
Though, this method does not allow a flat fill on the separate sides. But, it's an excellent mothod to share.
Thanks, Rik. It all depends on the effect that you are after of course but I thought it worth mentioning. :)
I'm surprised that Gary hasn't yet mentioned that these are natural stereograms. ;)
Here is my method that can be adapted for any of the 17 repeat wallpaper groups: Attachment 104462.
The advantage of the extra effort is the control over the resolution of the bitmap.

That's excellent, Acorn.
Can I ask, why you needed to create a bitmap copy?
Why not use the vector shape(s)?
Rik, how else do I create a background fill for an object or page or pasteboard?
Acorn
Strangley enough I received a mail-shot from istock which carried a very similar but more complicated 3D cube tile. It had numerous fill colours for the cubes as well as a fairly complex offset.
I thought I'd try to replicate it in Xara.
Here are my results:
The left image is of a numerous colour fill, the right is of a "type" of greyscale fill. All are editable.
Also attached is a screengrab of the istock image.
I've also attached the xar files but editing them is not for novices.
Off-topic but anyway, I stopped using iStock on principle when it was bought out by Getty. Anything that is Getty images is anathema and if I have to search high and low for an alternative to a Getty image, I will. Sometimes if you stand for nothing you will settle for anything.
Back on-topic, I like how you reproduced that, Egg :thx
