..and I can't figure out why; X365/Win10/64: I created the Text outline, type a paragraph and save. I come back later and the body is all broken up, not allowing any revision. In other words it has come apart line-by-line and even leter-by-letter. Any assist appreciated. Thanks.
Could you attach the web file GiddyUp? Only way I can imagine that happening is if you select the text, Change to Editable shapes / Ungroup / Ungroup.
I don't know what I may have done to cause this; don't remember doing anything but typing in the Text Block. I can't seem to upload anything but a graphic file and that wouldn't tell you anything I don't think.
See if you can find a backup with the text as text (File/Open Recent/Backups)
OR
If the web file hasn't been closed yet UNDO (Ctrl+Z)
Sounds if you have changed the text to Shapes. Check if the whole blob drags in Preview as an image.
Without a Backup, you are stymied.

You could both be right-on. I'm going to re-type both paragraphs, very carefully, not to change anything to see if it does it again; will let you know..thanks much.

Something to think about..do you think that possibly the font itself had to do with the issue. There's a possibility I may have used a font that didn't function properly with the Text Block..hmmm.

I don't use any "shape" conversion tools. This is strictly putting text in boxes and making groups. Over time (never immediately) the Text Line gets turned into a group of individual characters making text edits impossible.
This is a massive oversight and a huge issue for certain users of this product. Xara, where's your response?

Unfortunately that doesn't really help GuG. Basically the .web file is just a paragraph of text converted to Editable shapes and Ungrouped / Ungrouped.
It doesn't show in anyway why this is happening. Are you using personalised key shortcuts?
In all my years of using Xara I've never experienced this problem & I can't think of anyway it would happen other than via converting text to Editable shapes and Ungroup / Ungroup, which is a fairly complex set of commands.
Perhaps you could produce a video of how this occurs?
I dunno if I know how to do this Egg. I can tell you that I do not convert to editable shapes. It just struck me, it happens only when I take the text tool, do a rectangle and type a paragraph. At some point after that every letter separates and the edit block shows as a group. It really bumfuzzles me.
Well that baffles me, I can't replicate it and only yourself and one other member seems to be having this problem ???
Well it could be something, I guess, between my system and the app. I can't figger' it out, but as usual thank you for the effort.
The only time this happened to me was when, in Xara, I accidentally opened the PDF version of my original.
